I'd suggest to reformat it using FAT filesystem. In linux, type mkdosfs -F32 /dev/sdb1 (or however your device is named)

My philips gogear 4gb mp3 player is nt startin what 2 do??

I'd suggest that you format your player or repair it using Philips songbird or device manager. Contents may be removed by using this function. So make sure to back up your contents.

Format:
On your computer desktop, double-click "My computer". Double-click on the MP3 player's icon. Right-click on the Internal Storage icon and then select "Format".

Repair using Device manager:
Launch Device Manager and click the Tool menu and select "Repair", then follow the instructions to perform the repair process. Make sure all other applications such as Philips Plug-in, Windows Media Player or Windows Explorer that access the device are closed or else Device Manager will not recognize the device.

Hope this works.

Its automaticaly turn off while charging with laptop

Ok, I'd suggest that you do a soft reset of your player. You will find the reset button next to the 'power on' button on the side of the player. Please hold the Reset button using a pen tip or other sharp object for 10 seconds. Now turn it on. Please make sure that the player is fully charged before performing these functions.

You can also format the player. Contents may be removed by using this function. So make sure to back up your contents. Here is how to do this:

Connect your GoGear player to your PC. On your computer desktop, double-click "My computer". Double-click on the MP3 player's icon. Right-click on the Internal Storage icon and then select "Format". Disconnect it once the format is complete.

If that doesn't work, you can repair the player. To repair it you must have the Philips songbird installed on your computer. You can download it from this link:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?tmplt=ePlatform%20-%20Philips&scy=US&slg=AEN&sct=FLASH_AUDIO_PLAYER_SU&cat=MP3_MEDIA_PLAYERS_CA&session=20110227015533_125.18.127.111&grp=SOUND_AND_VISION_GR&ctn=SA2ARA08K/37&mid=Link_Software&hlt=Link_SoftwareHere

Please follow these steps to repair your GoGear MP3 player using Philips Songbird:

Launch Songbird and then connect your player to your computer. Select "Repair my Philips GoGear" under the "Tools" menu. Follow the instructions given by the pop-up windows to perform the repair process.

*Contents may be removed by using repair and format functions. So make sure to back up your contents.
Hope this helps. If the problem still persists you can contact Philips support team at www.philips.com/support

Thanks.

Can't format

Preformat : By Fix-shad0w

#1
Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
#2
Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
#3
Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
#4
In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
#5
Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
#6
Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

Convert to MP3 format using Content Transfer. I want to load an audio book to my SONY MP3 NWZ-E436F. My computer can see that the files are copied to the MP3, but the MP3 can't see or read them.

You can use any number of programs to convert cd's to mp3. Sony's Content Transfer is mainly just to transfer files from the computer to the player, drag and drop style. Sony has a Media Manager program that will convert or rip files from a cd into mp3. You can also use windows media player see this guys tip posted here --How To Download MP3's To My Player.

What format are the files and Does your computer recognize your player? You may not have the right format; Sansa's MP3/MP4 players support different formats. But, Check out the "loading Content" section of the user's manual for multiple ways on how your can load the music files into your player. Link below:
