My mom who is 86 called to tell me that her phone no longer works. Her answering machine stopped working when she pressed some keys. I can't go over and she says that the manual is too long. Her phone is a GE 5.8GHZ Digital messaging phone model no: G9H25838AH. She lives to far away for me to fix phone. HELP!

We have the answering machine set to 4 rings. When people call, the machine picks up on the 4th ring, it beeps, then cuts off. No recorded message. No message is recorded, the call is disconnected. What do we do?

After an hour of searching I found 3 tiny buttons on the back of the answering machine base that let me change the date and time by pressing and holding. Phew....

Wow..SAME thing...this phone system has gotten to be about 10 years old and the gurus or factory service won't help you out too much because of the bell and whistles it has...and time is money eventually...keypad membranes go bad..bugs get in them...the crawlly ones...if they share the place..my "initialization" left me throwing away the headache and going to Walmart...FIX YA!!!!!
