TV lacks green, but has prominant red/pink

A green tint can be caused by over drive of the green circuit or lack of enough red or blue.Either way it leads back to the tube having a problem. If it is even available the cost of replacement would well exceed cost of buying a new TV.

One color plug in the back was unplugged - Since the TV had not moved we didn't think to look for that. The cable bundle must have been bumped causing the problem - I feel a bit silly that I hadn't looked for that. Thanks for your follow-up.

If the problem is not the connections, try adjusting the tint on your television. A high tint setting will usually create a green
image on the screen where as a low tint will create a more red hue. In order to access your television's tint:
1. Press the “MENU” button on your remote control and use the LEFT or RIGHT arrow keys and select the
VIDEO menu.
2. Then use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to highlight PICTURE SETTINGS and press the "ENTER" button on
your remote.
3. Next use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to highlight TINT then use the LEFT or RIGHT arrow keys to adjust the
TINT. If the picture is too green the tint will need to be lowered.
4. Once you have adjusted the tint to your liking, use the DOWN arrow key to highlight DONE and press ENTER. The toshiba customer service telephone number is : 1-800-631-3811. I hope this helps you with your problem.

In the back of set you have a red green and blue gun.
two or three problems with sony on this.
sum times the green gun will go intermit.
by gentely taping the neck of green gun while set is on, and you see corection, you need to replace green gun.
in others we have found bad soldier in the HV section of the flyback.
and sumtimes its due to louse conectors going to the HD input in back of the set.

The color wheel is either defective or needs to be re indexed.

it is not the tube. There are three components that control red, green, blue. You will need to get it serviced

• green tint & also very prominent when there is a black screen.
• this problem is due to degaussing effct or magnetic effct in tv.
• please remove magenatic material near tv like speaker or headphone.
• if you have turned the direction of tv please bring to normal put the tv on & put it off for 30 minutes & now put it on it will be ok.
•  do not turn tv when it is on
• hope this will help.

 

I would check the green signal all the wat to the display screen to determine is this is a signal problem or a system short. I would recommend that you take this set to a qualified electronics technician

Excellent pictures of the crt board I can actually see the transistor ans is mounted in a piece of metal with a screw holding it,is just to the right and he should be the only one of this kind in the board,this transistor is soldered in and it needs to be replaced with same,in its face it has some number ,the part can be ordered or cross to a replacement with those numbers.Make sure all the conections on the board are solid.Let us Know how it goes.
