Epson Stylus Photo 1280 InkJet Printer Logo
Posted on Nov 06, 2008

Epson 1280 Bought the printer on Craigslist from an individual. I printed one awesome 13x19 photo. The next time I turned the printer on it powers up begins to do the head cleaning and then the power light goes off and the red maintenance button comes on. I can not see any paper jams. I have no idea where to start. Can you help me.

The ink jet printers have ink absorbing pads to catch and accumulate ink used to clean the printheads. The counter on MB counts number of head cleanings and printer startups (at every start up the heads are cleaned) and at preset number of cleaning alerts the operator that "printer needs maintenance" and sets the red light. You probably need a change ink absorbing pads (or wash them and dry 'em up) and then make a reset the count using printer Service Utility (can be downloaded from the web). To get to the ink absorbing pads is not easy - you need to remove the printer case - I am not familiar with 1280, but I did that on Epson 3000 & 5000 printers. In many cases the pads are actually OK , but the MB reaches the count and flags the pads.

Green power light is flashing and red light next to it stays lit

A flashing green on printer light generally means its waiting for a command for instance, push print, stop etc... also check that the pause button has not been pushed. if so depress again to release printing process

Epson R1800: printing 13x19" velvet paper. hand feeding into rear of printer. keeps saying eror, or paper jam or ... then finally just spits the paper through and out.

why print velvet paper? the problem is the velvet would be too thick and it would jam the print heads because when they run over the paper it would pull the velvet and it would get jammed i don`t think you should print velvet

I'm trying to resurrect an old Epson 1280 Photo Stylus. I've changed ink cartridges, and run the head cleaning/nozzle check utility numerous times, but nothing prints out on any test pages, nor on any...

It's time to "cut your losses"; either the electronics that tells the inkjets when to shoot ink is screwy, or the inkjets are totally plugged, despite the "cleaning" cycles.

Responsibly recycle the printer, and buy a new printer.
Maybe, try to find another Epson that accepts the same ink-cartridges that you recently inserted into the old printer.

Banding and splotching in solid color fields epson 1280

If you print with high speed, try to print without high speed. If problem remain, you need PF adjusment, use Adjusment program for 1280. Try to find at indoreset.blogspot.com
