actually they dont NOT TO THE WHITE 1886, I whoever is asking, I have the same problem. My own mother, and grandmother who have sown ALL their lives, who make clothes, etc. etc. CANNOT figure out for the life of us all, how to get that thing to load the thread., We get it through the needle, and underneath, And it looks normal, Its what you would do on a normal machine. But when you start, Is when it messes up. I think, they put up for sale because of this error

SOURCE: keeps cutting the thread from inside the machine

Make sure all of your threads are in between the tension dials. Sounds that the machine isn't catching because of the tension. Good Luck

SOURCE: I purchased a White Sew

We had the same issue. The needle was facing left/right instead of front/back. Once I unscrewed the needle and repositioned it so that I could thread it front/back, I was able to get it to catch.

How do I thread White 8931 sewing machine?

A manual is always helpful to know how to use the machine and clean/maintain it. Your older mechanical machine probably needs a good cleaning and oiling (sewing machine only).

Some videos may be helpful. Not necessarily your particular, but the threading process is very similar between models. The top thread goes through some thread guides, the down around the tension unit, up to the take--up lever, back down through some other guides and then through the needle. This is where your owner's manual would be very useful.

Even though the following is not your particular model, the process is very similar from one machine to another, so what you aren't able to get from the above links, you may get from these. Be sure to ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading the top thread so the thread will seat properly.

You probably already have some documentation, but if not, here are some:

White sewing Machine model 1418 (not your model, but most machines thread very much the same)

When threading the machine, ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot during the threading process. This releases the tension disk so the thread will seat properly.

I have a model 1409A White sewing machine and I'm having issues with threading it. Something is going on with the needle and the bobbin. How do I fix it?

Thread the machine with the presser foot up - this opens the tension for the thread to enter and be controlled as you sew.

Threading with the presser foot down, closes the tension and the thread cannot enter during the threading process and you get loose, loopy stitches that appear to be an issue with the bobbin.

Have an old white rotary machine # 151 or possibly #247

I have a few of the old White machines and it is never obvious as to how they are threaded. I found a YouTube video demo of a White and the fellow does a pretty fair job of showing how to thread the machine. I will include the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9eiKXCjv80 Threading White Rotary model 43 sewing machine

Thread keeps breaking

Your machine isn't threaded properly. Check to make sure #1, you have it threaded right and #2 the thread on all 4 spools is in between the tension dials. Good Luck and Hope this helps.
