I have a lexmark 4200 that i am trying to program on to a microsoft vista. it keeps saying error. i had a xp microsoft on my old computer and all i had to do was insert the disc and it worked perfectly. i have been told that vista is different and to get with lexmark and you could help me out.

This could be a printer driver problem. Try to uninstall your existing Lexmark X4270 printer driver from your computer. On your computer, go to Start menu > Programs > Lexmark 4200 Series > Tools > Uninstall. After the process, reboot pc when prompted.

That means that the program isent compatible with vista, its only compatible and works with Windows 98 / 95 / 2000 / Me / XP / NT

I dont know if there is any pacthes out there to make it work with vista, i couldent find any.

vista cant find lexmark X84 drivers on install disks,need replacements

Try reinstall the driver, here is a link where you can download it:

If all cables are plugged in and the printer is powered up, you should see it in Printers after installing the driver.

If you can't follow that link, go to www.lexmark.com. On the top menu, there is a link called "Drivers and Downloads". Click it and select your series, then your OS system, and there you go.

The drivers for Vista are finally updated.

I had the same problem for about a year... now it works fine.
