The "LE" error or fault code indicates that the washer motor is either overheating or has lost connection to the motor control circuit board. Turn off the machine for 30 minutes to let the motor cool down. Then, restart the washer. If the code comes back immediately the motor is not likely to be at fault and so you should check the wiring from the motor to the motor control board. Also, check the wiring and condition of the rotor position sensor, also called a HALL sensor. If the code doesn't come back on immediately, but returns after the washer has run for a while, the motor stator or rotor may be defective.

LG TROMM displays LE

LE stands for Load Error,
First try unplugging the machine for a few minutes and then retry a cycle. If you still get the LE error:

The Hall sensor (part number 6501KW2001A) has failed. The hall sensor is rather easy to replace, and is covered by a seven year part warranty (in the US). Take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Snap new sensor on and reassemble. Usually takes under a half hour. On a difficulty scale of 1 - 10, it might rate a 4. This should be a Fix-Ya for your machine, and at basically no cost!
In the US, find a service provider using your zip code at http://us.lgservice.com/index_b2c.jsp or call LG at 800-243-0000

Washer

Greetings jannd,

The message "LE" can indicate that the thermal overload protection circuit in the motor has been tripped. The remedy for this can be to allow the washer to stand for 30 minutes to allow the motor to cool, then restart the cycle. If the LE error code still appears, unplug the washer and call for service. Keep in mind that this unit carries a 7 year warranty on the motor also.

I hope this helps!
Best regards,

Dorothy

Error message displayed on LG tromm washer model # wmt2778w

Flashing UE - The display shows:
• Load is too small.
• Load is out of balance.
• The washer has an imbalance detection and correction system. If individual heavy articles are loaded (bath mat, bath robe, etc.) and the imbalance is too great, the washer will make several attempts to restart the spin cycle. If an imbalance is still detected, the washer will stop and the error code will be
displayed.

Possible Solution
• Add 1 or 2 similar items to help balance the load.
• Rearrange items to help balance the load.
• Control error.
