My samsung fridge freezer model number RS21DCSW has stopped making ice due to the ice tray being stuck in the upside down position. can anyone help with some advice on how to repair.
Thanks
Hi
My Samsung freezer was nor a RB2155 it is a RS2630SH however after not making any ice because the tray was stuck in the upside down position or thereabout after 6 weeks it suddenly started making ice again, we had not done anything to it but we heard it dropping ice one evening and we had a look in the ice container and low and behold the ice box was full to the top, I would still like to know why it went like that in the first place in case it happens again it is a mystery.

The defrost heater on your ice tray has failed, Replace the ice tray is only solution, sensors are having trouble as well due the heater problem. Does not know where it is in the cycle, also sounds like the gear on the ice maker is shot due to build up, replacing the ice maker should sort all issues out. If you cant find one, send me a email to [email protected] and I'll send you one. Regards Russ
Have you tried using a hair dryer to defrost around the ice tray. Contrary to normal, when ice freezes it expands due to trapped air, this will expand the ice tray. If you heat it the ice will meltmaybe releasing the tray enough to push it around.
If Samsung I need the model number to begin to help. There are so many I would only be guessing to give answers. Check for a model like RB2155SH for example. Sea Breeze
On most samsung Refrigerator ice makers there will be a button on it to test the functionality of the ice maker. Its a small button covered with clear rubber. When you locate it hold that down for 10 to 15 seconds and if it is functional it should run through its paces. Is it the ice maker in the left fridge door , the freezer compartment, or the one inside the fridge to the left?
I also had the ice tray stuck in the dump position. I unplugged it waited 5 minutes and pluged it back in. And the Ice tray moved back into the correct fill position, and the arm did drop down, But now it has not filled with any water. So now what should I try?
