Hi the actual purple bar on my dyson wont go forward without me using considerable force iv had a llook for anything which could be jamming it but came up with nothing please help

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC25 Animal. If the Ball seems harder than usual to rotate, this may be because the filter inside the Ball is out of position. Try removing and refitting the filter, making sure it locks into place with an audible 'click' - the video below may help you in doing this.

DC25 doesn't include a dedicated reset switch - instead, the reset mechanism is built into the main on/off and brush control switches.
Once you've checked the cleaner head for obstructions and removed any threads or hair from around the brush bar and endcap, you should be able to resolve your issue by following the simple steps shown in our support video guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q--faamcC7g

This seems to be caused by the filter release becoming depressed during use. I have tried fixing this into the locked position with tape, but to no avail. We paid a service engineer to service the unit, but he was unable to resolve this issue.
