Hook the DVD to another TV set, this will prove if the player is the issue or original TV

SOURCE: portable mustek dvd player

try this: power up your dvd without a disc. using your remote keypad input 9735. a secret menu should apprear. select your region code or choose 0 which will allow all discs to play. this will work with the mp70c but not with all mustek models. other solutions are available with an exhaustive google search

SOURCE: watching tv while recording onto vhs or dvd

In order to view one channel and record another, you have to have (and be using) two tuners and also have a way to bypass the signal to one tuner into the other. The only time you're using the tuner of a device is when coaxial is connected - everything else is an input mode.

1. You could have a 2-way splitter with the signal connected on one end to RF IN of the DMR and on ANT IN of the TV, then the DMR connected to the TV via composite, S-Video or component cables.
2. You could connect coaxial all the way through to the television from the wall. Wall to DMR to TV - all coax would allow you to view one channel and watch another. Tune the DVD recorder to the channel you wish to record and start the recording. Use the TV/VCR button to bypass that signal to the TV and tune the station you want to watch on your television.

When it says "you cannot change the channel or recording mode while recording" that is referring to the tuner on the DVD recorder, not your television. I think the issue here is that you're keeping your TV in the input mode and trying to change the channel on the recorder after you've started recording - but I could be wrong. You need to change the channel on the TV ITSELF.

Download the manual under Operating Instructions.

2. To remedy "SET1" problem, Press 1 & Enter at the same time.

SOURCE: i have a rca dvd recorder+vcr combo drc8320n i want to set up watching/changing cabletv channels on the dvd remote. i have tried buying universal remotes cheap& expensive but they no longer work on my

With cable input connected to "RF in"on rear of unit make sure vidoe input is set to "Tuner". This will show up on the TV screen. Change channels numerically or using up/down arrow keys on DVR remote. Note there is a slight pause between changing channels. You probably will have to "autoscan" for channel setup/etc. If you say your TV set is old; it probabaly is equiped with coax
connection only/set TV channel to "3" or "4". when yot opt to play vcr/dvd it will override your
cable channel selected. Hope this helps!

Color on TV changes to black and white, then after awhile changes back

It is possible to be the box, and not your tv. A good way to test is to see if it does it when you are watching a dvd or another source. (game system, blue ray, ect) Hope this helps! Good luck!

What chanel do i put tv on to watch dvd movies

Hi,
You are trying to work out how to watch a DVD movie on your TV
The DVD should be connected to your TV with Audio Video cables.
And it will most likely be connected to AV1 on your TV
The easiest way to find out would be to
  • Put a DVD in the Player and press play
  • Now the TV is probably in channel mode, so find the button on the TV remote that says TV/AV
  • now press this button TV/AV and it will scroll from TV channel to AV1, AV2 etc until you see the DVD picture.

I hope this helps you.
If so please leave a vote or comment.

Have a great day

Tv works great, dvd is new , cant figure out the right hook up , dvd has 3 cables white yellow red

Red = right sound channel, white = left sound channel and yellow = video (picture) channel. if you have the connections matching these on the tv, then there should be an AV channel on the remote/tv control panel. Select this channel to view, if more than one AV channel on the tv, there will be a number next to the sockets you plugged into. Select the AV number and away you go.
If your tv doesn't have the correct sockets you can buy a converter to use the ariel socket on the tv.

Is there an input select?

I can view channels but cannot view a DVD from the TV/DVD Disney Princess Combo. Only see static on the screen with no sound. I wonder if I need to change the input select to view a movie but cannot find a button on the TV or remote control. I have a 6 button remote which I am sure operates the DVD and another remote with 39 buttons I thought would operate the player as well as the TV. However, so far only the player functions from it. The buttons only have small pictures without words which sometimes leaves some question about purpose. This is a second hand unit. I do not have a manual. It did play movies at first. I think the trouble may have started when I programed cable channels. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Static on screen and then turns itself off then on

My first aproach will be to see if the tv reacts to tap on the sides if you see a reaccion when you do it most likely you have a loose conection and need to call someone to find it and resoldered it.Dont do it yourself if you dont know how.
