PAV2300AWW Washed bathroom rug. shredded and jammed drain pump. I drained the tub and the mess from the tub by bailing. I removed the shredded pieces from the drain pump. It seems to run but with less ability to rinse and leave the wash damp.

Pump is likely not clean yet
there is a chance that the pump impeller is loaded with lint, inside the pump body
not sure about front loader dissassembly,
usuallly front panel removes and the pump is accessible on the front side of the motor retained by two spring clips.
if you clear the muck quickly the lint wont damage the impeller

This becomes a long drawn out process in which you have to remove the pump and the entire drain line and wash all the backing out of the machine also you have to remove the lines that go from the tub to the pump as well and even after you finish cleaning out the drain system you still will have more pieces stuck inside the tub area that you have to clean out as well. Easiest way take the machine outside or to an area you can use a hose on the unit where after you disassemble the entire pump area that you can wash the tub out of all the small pieces of the rug backing I had the unfortunate repair of doing this to someones rubber backed rug cept it took all the rubber off the back of the rug. It took about 3 hours with hooking and rehooking the drain lines and unclogging them over and over due to this unit I was working on was in a basement and no access to a hose If you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations in the future Thanks again Rick
p.s do this repair yourself a repair technician would charge about 200 to repair the unit due to the amount of time

My washer will not drain . I washed bathroom rugs that fell apart leaving excess fibers that I beleive plugged up the holes that allows drainage. A few gallons of water is still sitting in my washer and...

If your washer does not drain you need to check this parts.
  1. Inspect the drain hose for kinks
  2. Test the timer control
  3. Test the lid switch(some models)
  4. Inspect the water pump
  5. Inspect the drive belt(belt drive only)
  6. Inspect the motor coupler
If the drain hose reaches more than about 4 inches into the laundry tub, cut off the excess. If your drain hose is lower than the washer's cabinet, install an air gap/siphon break assembly.
