I just bought an emachines E19T6W and it does the same thing. I have connected it to my desktop as well as my laptop. Is this a monitor defect?

  • Anonymous Dec 16, 2008

Same issue with E19T6W monitor; recently purchased as "refurbished." My guess this is why the particular monitor (manufactured May 2008) was sent back to be "refurbished."

Contacted EMACHINES, they had no knowledge of this issue. Sent them this site's (FIXYA) link regarding this issue.

Your power/inverter board is in need of an overhaul.
The capacitors are failing and possibly a transistor.
If the screen showed any redness or pink whebn it was working, Then there is a slight chance that one or more of the 4 lightbulbs in the screen was going bad and finally went.
If you take it apart and send me a picture, I may be able to tell by looking at it.
I repair these boards on ebay

If you have never installed the EZTune software then try this:

unplug the monitor power at the back.
Wait 1 minute.
Hold down the power button and plug back in the power at the back.
Keep the power button pressed for 15 seconds.

I have a E machines 19" widescreen flat panel computer monitor that is only 6 months old. For the last few days when I power up my computer, the monitor comes on for 1 or 2 seconds then flickers and goes...

Open the monitor, examine the circuit boards. Look for small components that look like small cans, these are capacitors. If you see any that look bulged on top, then your problem can probably be solved by replacing these. Check out the following sites;

Follow the directions and good luck!

Monitor boots ok, then "Analog" appears/monitor shuts off

Does it have a digital port being used? If you are using the DVI port, it is probably digital. Try using the menu to selct the port. If it doesn't work, not sure from here. What is the model number?

Emachine E19T5W Monitor

I have more or less the same problem. Mine only stays on for a second though, but it started out like yours. I took it apart and found that the CCFL bulbs at the top of the screen were so poorly put together that they arced out and in the end melted the end of the back panel bulbs off. The monitor only lasted a year and a half and now it's toast unless I can find new back panal bulbs.
If the screen feels excessivly hot around the corners or if you here a snapping noises (arcing) yours is going the same route as mine. If you want to get rid of yours I'll take it.

Gateway FPD1960 19" CD has a red tint to all oc screen when I turn it on.

Make sure your VGA cable is seated properly. If it is seated OK, it could be the start of a problem with a backlight. When a backlight goes bad, it typically shows up as pink/red color where white should be displayed.
