SOURCE: How can I attach a ceramic towel bar inside a tub

You could use a good water proof glue but that would only work for a short while. What kind of material is the surrounding made of? Ceramic towel bars are normally set in ceramic surroundings. If you really must have this towel bar you may have to cut two squares out of the surrounding and put in two ceramic tiles, that way you can put ceramic on ceramic.

Towel rack fix came out from wall

Go to a hardware store and wall anchor screws to reinstall the brackets that hold to towel bar to the wall. There should be two brackets and two holes on each bracket. If the existing holes are to big, drill two new holes on each side. Screw the brackets to the wall. As you turn the screw, the will expand in the screw hole and hold the brackets that you attach the towel bar to.

Heavy duty construction adhesive

Ceramic is particularly difficult to bond to due to the polished surface. The shelf you describe is probably heavy, but you have no dimensions or weight provided. I see these shelves fail frequently when they are only "glued" to the wall. It should have been installed to the wall first with a bracket arrangement, then the wall flashed and tiled around the shelf (presuming you have tile walls).

I would recommend that you use stainless steel brackets fastened into the walls (may require using toggle bolts - be sure to run the bolt through the bracket first!) to support the shelf. Use brackets at each wall, then use silicone sealant over the fastener heads. Use the largest brackets that the shelf will allow, you might be able to just epoxy the shelf on top of the brackets rather than trying to install fasteners into the shelf piece, which might break it.

This vendor has nice stainless steel brackets:http://www.gsproducts.co.uk/stainless-steel-corner-angle-brackets/

How do you drill through ceramic tile

Go to Lowes, Home Depot, Menards or reasonably good Hardware store. buy a ceramic bit. They are usually with the wood, steel and concrete bits. Small bits arent to pricy. If you need a larger hole like the on the shower pipe goes through, you will need a ceramic hole saw. Hole saws are coated with diamond chips and will probably cost $40 or more. good Luck

Hi, I want to replace an old American Standard toilet bowl that is a 4 bolt tie down design to the floor. Can I replace this with a standard 2 bolt floor mount design? If not are 4 bolt tie down models...

If you go with the 2 bolt you will need (I presume) to drill 2 holes into the tile. put toilet in place where it will sit and mark the holes , take away toilet and drill the holes with a 7ml tile drill bit (masking tape put over the tile will help you to not slip when starting off the hole). Drill deep enough to insert 7ml rawl plugs. then place the toilet back and fix down with screws long enough to go through the toilet and 3/4 of the rawl plug. You will need; Electric percussion drill or descent battery drill. 7 ml tile drill bit 2 x rawl plug 7ml 2 x screw masking tape is handy hope this helps, Alex

Moen 3836...lost installation manual...what size drill bit for the hand held brkt.

There is no single answer that I can give you because it will vary due to material you are mounting to. If you are going to be mounting on ceramic tile or fiberglass shower wall I would recommend you use the plastic anchors that come with the bracket and mounting screws. Use drill size 3/16 drill holes and insert anchors. Mount bracket and screw in place. If you have hollow wall with nothing but sheetrock to hold the bracket I would get small butterfly anchors from hardware store and drill hole slightly larger than the wings on fastener when they are folded back along side the screws. If you have a wood backer board behind shower wall then drill holes with 1/8 inch bit and use screws long enough to reach through shower wall and sheet rock and mount bracket. Hope this helps you. Thanks P.S. If you have to drill thru ceramic tile you will need a carbide tipped bit.

How to Install Towel Bar?

Since towel bars are usually installed onto separate hardware that's mounted on the walls, use the actual hardware as a template to mark exactly where to drill your mounting holes. Hold a piece of mounting hardware against the masking tape and use your pencil to mark the actual spots to drill your holes. Use different-sized drill bits to drill for the two ends. The Molly bolt or wall anchor will require a much larger diameter hole than the screws going directly into the stud. (The size of the hole required for the wall fastener will be marked on the packaging.) Install the wall fastener into the wall, then mount the hardware onto the wall and place the ends of the towel bar over the hardware. Attach the towel bar to the mounting hardware using the screws included with the towel bar. These are commonly small-slotted screws located on the bottom of the end pieces of the towel bar.
