You need to remove the front cover by removing th escrews holding on the door hinge nad 2 other screws oppisite the hinge, after taking off screws the front "u" shaped panel will pull foward and off( hoeld on by 2 clips along the bottom. the drain pump is located right back corner of machine..ill assume that the machine is still full of water so youll need ot **** out as much as possible before removing the hose connected to the pump. theris going to be some water no matter how much you remove nut might as well get as much as you can. youll either find debris in hose, or debris lodged in imoeller of pump, even seen coins standing in the plastic hosing preventing flow of water.VERY< VERY rarely bad pump ussually just a clog.IMPORTANT UNPLUG UNIT FIRST LOTS OF LIVE WIRES UNDER HERE

There seems to be some sort of blockage before the pump.You may have a blockage at the point where water drains from tube. Good Luck Friend.

The washer ran fine then stopped with water not draining. When I push the on button I get a buzz or humming noise .nothing moves. There is no error code.

Sounds as if you have something doen in the pump preventing it from draining and in doing so shutting the machine off as a safety action. I think you can actually access the pump from the rear of the machine. just unplug the machine, prepare to get wet, take the back of the machine off, take the lines off the pump and check for the blockage.

I have a Maytag Neptune MAH 6700 AWW. It is shutting off and giving error code tE. Customer service does not recognize the error code. Can you help?

This is a problem with the signal from the water heating element "Thermistor" a Thermistor is a solid state sensor that senses temperature, in this case water temp. The Thermistor is part of the washers water heating assembly and not sold separately from it. There is a factory repair bulletin associated with the problem and the new part has improved reliability. I can't understand what the Maytag folks you called would tell you it is not listed, it is a common fault in the Neptune. Please rate my help. Thanks

What does it mean when error code (nd) is flashing

ND = No drainage. You get this because there is a blockage in the pump or the line to the pump.

The pump is towards the front of the machine. Lay it down and take off the hose from the pump to drain to let any water out of the pump. Open the pump and remove the object /s blocking it. Replace all hoses and return unit to service.

Error ND means that there is a drain problem.

Either there is debris inside drain pump hose, or the pump itself is faulty.

The problem is fixed accessing the drain pump hose to check for a blockage.

Keep a container ready to collect water when you undo pump hose.

ND Error code

Error code "nd" means it is not draining. Click on this link to get the user manual:

Not draining can be caused by the controller, pump, solenoid valve, or clogged drain.

How do i fix nd code for mde5500ayw maytag neptune

There are two possible causes to the "nd" code. The first is with the pump itself. Either is is blocked or it is simply worn out and needs replacing. The second is a malfunction with the control board. Unless you find a blockage to the pump there is no way to know which one is the cause of the "nd" code without some testing or replace these items.
If you are unafraid of facing your washer with tools in hand then you should be able to test the pump. As for the board, all you can do is check it for damage most likely caused from a component melt down. In which case it's going to need replacement.

But check for blockages first because that will cause the "nd" code.

will heres some of the easy test,,,check drain hose for blockage,,,ckeck punp for coins always unplug unit..now this is more serious so be careful..ckeck for 120 volts at the pump..its a electric,,,,im here if you needed me
