Here is a link to a website that sells the replacement lamp for $99 dollars. http://electrified.com/Catalog/Items/?CampaignID=Dealtime&ItemID=36414

There might be a local store in your area that carries replacement lamps but probably will not have yours in stock and would have to order it. After you replace the lamp you will need to reset the lamp timer for your TV using the lamp replacement option on the TV general settings menu.

this is usually caused by dirt inside the light engine. it needs to be sent in to sony or a rebuild company to be cleaned or replaced. not user/operator repair....

your optical block is failing. Sony has a program for replacing them if you want, or they will offer you a new TV. call this number 239-768-7604 and tell them what you TV's symptoms are and they will get you started

My sony projection tv model number KDFE42A10 It work's fine but after 10 minutes or so the picture will go out then the green will flash 49 times then the picture comes back on for awhile then does same...

This is an easy problem. Your lamp is bad. Do not buy a cheap lamp. They are dim and won't last. I always recommend you buy the sony lamp. Also clean out all dust in back and side of tv..jeff the tv doctor

When I turn the tv on it stays on for a few seconds, and then cuts off

How do i replace the lamp bulb in sony tv kdfe42a10

There are several online video tutorials that are available online. If you search some of the websites that seel the lamp, most have a tutorial.

You'll need...

1. a Phillips screwdriver
2. a 7mm (I believe) nut driver
3. Needlenose pliars
4. Gloves to keep acid from your skin getting on the lamp. The company I bought my lamp from provides cotton gloves (www.bulbsolutions.com)

Remove 3 screws from housing (2 on each side, and one that holds front of housing to the back of the housing)
Remove 2 mounting screws in corner of lamp that holds lamp securely to the lens.
Remove nut holding wiring harness to lamp
Remove screw holding wiring harness to lamp
