The oven light used to occasionally turn itself on and off. Today, while the oven was in use, the light started flickering on and off rapidly and wouldn't stop unitl I disconnected the 5-pin ribbon connector behind the control panel. Could this just be a faulty relay which is replaceable (which one?) or do I need a new control panel/board?
I have seen several problems with the touch pad (membrane switch assembly) causing weird problems with the lights. also something to check is the door hinges. I have seeen several cases where the door hinges wear out and the door does not close completely and doesnt quite push the door switch in. The easiest way to check this possibility is to push in on the door while the light is acting up and see if it quits. If it doesn't, the problem most likely lies in the mebrane switch (touch pad). Good Luck!

I've had the same problem in my 1997 ECS127 in the house I just bought. After reading this post, I discovered that it IS the door not shutting all the way. If I push hard and hold the door in, I'm able to turn the light on and off. Not sure how to fix the door to shut tightly, but need to find out.
Not sure of model but our Dacor double oven upper oven light comes is on and the light switch will not turn it off, nor make any sound like the okay bottom oven light switch. Shutting off breaker to oven sets lamp off, but soon it comes on again, I don't know why. THen it went off in the middle of the night and operated fine during the morning, but is now stuck on. I am suspecting a relay, but I have no idea yet.

Hi all. I have the exact same problem! It has happened so much that the light is now burned out. Do I really have to replace the whole pannel $$$. Dacor should stand behind their products! Sounds like a defect to me!
I have the same problem and now my oven has stopped working all together. I've had to replace my dacor microwave three times in 7 years and now the oven. Not so sure about Dacor quality!
I have an error E1 18
