New Battery Didn't Fix The Problem!

Okay, my Ipod was working fine and then my laptop crashed and I had to charge it from a wall adapter. I restore my laptop, Itunes is fine and I restore my iPod and it won't charge. I leave it alone for a couple of months then i get a new battery and the man who sold me the battery told me to leave the iPod charged for 18 hours. It's still charging and it has no juice in it to function without being plugged in to a power source. Is there any hope in fixing the iPod or should I just get a new one?

Get the connection checked from the battery to the ipod itself because it may not be connected and your ipod may not be getting power from the battery. Or the battery may be completely dead.

Battery is not charging with new adapter

Clean battery terminals with a stiff toothbrush, plus the new battery. If no change! charge circuits need to be checked for output voltage, if okay! new battery is defective, If no! the charge circuits in the motherboard are the issue "very rare"

You may have a DC connector problem:

Symptoms of a broken power jack
1. If you wiggle the power cord or the AC Adapter connector on the back of the laptop, the power LED and battery charge LED start to flicker.
2. Battery will not charge in the laptop.
3. Laptop runs fine off a charged battery.
4. With the AC Adapter connected the laptop appears to be dead.
No power LED or battery charge LED activity.
5. Laptop randomly powers off without any warning.

If your laptop is out of warranty, then you can fix the problem by re-soldering DC-IN jack on the system board. If it

Hi, my laptop crashes when the ac adaptor is plugged in yet it will charge the battery fine when the laptop is shut down.

Problem description: The laptop shuts off when AC power adapter is plugged in. The laptop works fine on battery power but as soon as you connect it to AC adapter, the laptop turns off.
Possible cause: 1. Power adapter failure.
2. Motherboard failure.
Possible troubleshooting steps and repair solution: First of all, test the power adapter. Make sure the adapter outputs correct voltage. It's possible that the output voltage is not correct and the laptop shuts down to prevent the damage. Test your laptop with another known good power adapter.
If the problem still exists, even after replacing the adapter, most likely it's the motherboard failure. Replace the motherboard.

We just bought this acer aspire 5315 lap top brand new charger but battery still wont hold charge even plugged into the wall can anyone help please its for my kids to play?????????????? i have a gateway...

First of all, you need to make sure your power adapter is providing enough power to both run the laptop & charge the battery. A very good way to do this is to compare your laptop voltage & ampere requirements (written on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop) with the voltage & ampere ratings of the power adapter. Voltages should be the same, or the power adapter's voltage about up to 0.5 volts more than the laptop's voltage rating. Amperage of the power adapter should be at least equal to or greater than the laptop's rating. It should never be less than the laptop's rating, or else the power adapter will be providing insufficient amperes to charge the battery. Of course, the power adapter's nominal amperage might be ok, but it degraded on usage. You can verify this by testing using a good or new power adapter.
If the battery did not charge using the new power adapter, take the battery off the laptop, & using a dry tooth brush, scrub in between the fins of the battery connector on the motherboard & on the battery it self, then put the battery back into the laptop & try again.
If this still did not resolve the problem, then the battery itself could be bad. Try it on another laptop, or try a good or new battery in your laptop.
If this did not work, there might be a possibility that the charging circuitry on the laptop's motherboard is defective & needs servicing. In order to do this, the laptop needs to be disassembled & the motherboard checked for defective/burned out components in the area near the DC jack. Any defective/burned out components found should be replaced, or you might need to replace the laptop's motherboard altogether.

New replacement battery won't charge.

Hi,

What you can try is to connect it to your Desktop computer USB port at the rear of you computer and charge it for 8 hrs atleast..

then try this step once

  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step
and also try this at last

  1. Ensure that you have an active Internet connection as new versions of iTunes and iPod Software may need to be downloaded to your computer.
  2. Download and install the latest version of iTunes if you do not already have it installed.
  3. Open iTunes, and then connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
  4. After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
  5. Select your iPod in the Source panel and you will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes windows.
  6. Click the Restore button. You will be prompted with one or more restore options that may prompt iTunes to automatically download the latest iPod Software. The 4 possible restore options are:
    • Restore Option 1: Restore - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod.
    • Restore Option 2: Use Same Version - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod even though a newer version is available.
    • Restore Option 3: Use Newest Version - Restores with the latest iPod Software available.
    • Restore Option 4: Restore and Update - Restores with the latest iPod Software available.
  7. If you are using a Mac, a message will appear prompting you to enter an administrator’s name and password.
  8. A progress bar will appear on the computer screen indicating that the first stage of the restore process has started. When this stage is completed, iTunes will present one of two messages on screen with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
    • Restore Instruction 1: Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
    • Restore Instruction 2: Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
  9. During the stage 2 of the restore process, the iPod will show an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remains connected to the computer or iPod Power adapter during this stage. Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see since the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
  10. After stage 2 of the restore process is complete and the iPod is connected to the computer, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear asking you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences similar to when you connected your iPod for the first time.
