DKVM4K, no vga output

I own one D- Link, DKVM-4K KVM switch. It was working perfect for two years with 4 PCs on it until last week i switched from PC1 to PC3 and the screen faded out slowly to blank and the monitor messaged me "No signal". I thought that there might be the graphic card but when i tested PCs without the switch, everything was OK. I tested them again through the switch and only mouse and keyboard were working perfect, but no VGA signal. All Pcs working on the exact same resolution (1280x1024 at 75Hz). Can somebody please help me what might be wrong, or perhaps where should I apply for a repair?? The bad thing is that this happened 34 days after the warranty expired......

I don't know anything about that KVM but you might see if there is a reset button to reboot it. or if it has an external power supply unplug it and try resetting it that way.

SOURCE: using KVM-121 with 2 monitors

You should be able to -- the KVM switch would just switch inputs for the monitor, but since your two monitors would be plugged in directly to your computers, the switch wouldn't actually be affecting your monitor inputs.

Just make sure to plug your monitors directly to your computers and not use the switch.

A new model switch would probably work better with Windows 7 laptop. I have experienced some incompatibilities with older peripherals or accessories when upgrading to Windows 7.

Good luck on this repair.

SOURCE: i just bought d-link kvm-221...

Hi,

I got this problem also; the caplock indicator didn't even lit. The problem is current consumption. KVM switch, keyboard (250mA) and mouse (100mA) were draining too much current. I changed the keyboard for a 100mA and it worked.

I hope this can help other people...

How to connect 2 computers to a dlink 4 port kvm switch?

The unit comes with all the cables in order to connect up to four computers to one KVM switch. If you're only using two computers, then you'll only need to connect one computer to Computer 1, and the second computer to Computer 2. The KVM will recognize that only two devices are connected, and generally skip the inputs for computers 3 and 4 until they have a device connected.

Using KVM-121 with 2 monitors

the way the kvm switches works is you have your mouse/keyboard and monitor plugged into the switch then you have the cables connecting to where you would have your mouse/keyboard on your pc, youll be using the same keyboard/mouse and monitor to run 2 pc's. there will be rather a switch to move between the pc's or like the 1 i use i have tp press ctrl the number 2 twice.

You should always use 1 switch per pc as that's mostly recommended.

Keyboard and mouse problem!

I've had this problem happen lots of times before. usually restarting the PC with the switch enabled to the PC that is booting will solve this problem. For some reason, sometimes the drivers don't load for the mouse and keyboard when starting up the PC.
