I have a Briggs & Stratton 5500 watts generator that I hardly pull the rope for start, begins stuck then its loosen again and again gets too hard to pull, any suggestions please help

If the unit is older it could have heavy carbon in the cylinder heads, it could be a ring sticking and binding, do a compression test. Compression is high or mechanical binding.

I have a 5kw generator it was working fine I use it on the oil fields to power my little rv suddenly every time I turn on the air con it trips the breaker and now im using a air compressor and at first...

A number of things can cause this. A sit worked before !
Basically:

Engines get older and can't hold HP which causes the rpm to slow and voltage dip, this causes a current increase and trips.

Breakers also get weaker especially if they trip a few times
HVAC and compressors pull approx 6 times the current to start as they do to run, once they have run a while, they build up higher head pressures which cause harder starting and more current draw, hence the breaker tripping.

It's hard to pin point which is the actual issue, but these all contribute.

My neighbor gave me a 10 year old 5000 watt Coleman with a 10hp Briggs that was not running. It would run on starter fluid so I focused on a fuel problem. New fuel, fuel filter and oil. Dissassembled the...

That's interesting that you bypassed the fuel pump after noticing that the carburetor was below the tank, not needing a fuel pump to start the engine.

Maybe they put a fuel pump in to ensure that the float bowl valve is not the only thing preventing gas from overflowing into the carburetor when stored for a long period of time.

I would put the pump in if that's the way they originally designed the fuel supply for the engine, just to be safe.

Good luck on this repair.

Just bought a generator 5000/6250 style but my husband can't pull the recoil handle. i think it's stuck so we can't test the generator. the unit was shipped from california to the philippines. pls advice...

Try removing the spark plug and rotating the engine by hand.
It could be just a little corroded from shipment over the ocean.
But once you have it loosened up and the oil circulated, it should start much easier.
Make sure it has oil in it, because sometimes they drain the oil before shipping.
You could also have someone else try the starter rope. A new engine can be hard to start.

My propane generator engine has apark and gas

For a quick test.

Check engine oil.

Remove wire from low oil sensor and see if it starts every time.

If that works change oil and replace low oil sensor.

Hope this tip helps to solve your problem.
