SOURCE: how do you remove the rear seat in a chrysler 300M

Grab the bottom seat cushion at the front of one side and pull it straight up then do the same on the other side. (you will have to pull up very hard) The bottom of the seat clips in. once you have the bottom out take the 2 bolts out of the seat belt fasteners that holds the bottom of the top seat cushion. Then pull straight up on the seat cushion to slide it off two tabs that hold the top.

SOURCE: R & R Fuel Pump on a 2001 Chrysler 300M

Removal & Installation

The in-tank fuel pump module contains the fuel pump and pressure regulator which adjusts fuel system pressure. Fuel pump voltage is supplied through the fuel pump relay.

The fuel pump is serviced as part of the fuel pump module. The fuel pump module is installed in the top of the fuel tank and contains the electric fuel pump, fuel pump reservoir, inlet strainer fuel gauge sending unit, fuel supply and return line connections and the pressure regulator. The inlet strainer, fuel pressure regulator and level sensor are the only serviceable items. If the fuel pump requires service, replace the fuel pump module.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Negative battery cable Fuel tank
  4. Clean the top of the tank to remove any loose dirt.

Fuel lines from the fuel pump module by squeezing the quick-connect fitting with thumb and forefinger 133c495.jpg

How to remove rear struts

Remove or disconnect the following:
NOTE
Hold the hex on the attaching link stud while breaking the nut loose. The attaching link does not have to be removed from the strut.
Rear wheel
Caliper assembly and rotor from the hub, if equipped with rear disc brakes
Brake flex hose from the support bracket and wheel cylinder, if equipped with rear drum brakes. Plug the brake flex hose to prevent system contamination. Do not allow the rear caliper to hang by the brake hose. Support the caliper off of the frame with a strong piece of wire.
Speed sensor cable routing bracket and tube, if equipped with Anti-lock Brake System (ABS)
Lateral links to the rear spindle assembly bolts
Rear strut assembly-to-stabilizer bar attaching link at the stabilizer bar
Remove the rear spindle-to-strut assembly pinch bolt. Install a center punch in the hole on the spindle and tap the punch into the hole until jammed. This will spread the spindle casting allowing it to be removed from the strut.
Using a hammer, tap on the top surface of the spindle, driving the spindle down and off the end of the strut assembly. Let the spindle and assembled components hang from the trailing arm while the strut is being serviced.
From inside the trunk of the vehicle, remove the 3 upper strut mounting bolts and remove the strut from the vehicle.
Disassemble the strut by performing the following procedure:
NOTE
Service of the coil spring requires the use of a coil spring compressor tool. It is required that 5 coils be captured within the jaws of the compressor tool.

Strong vibration when in driving checked the struts, tires, and brakes but can not figure out the problem

If the tires and struts are good, check the CV joints, front end bushings and Tie Rod ends.

Needs front struts How do I replace front struts on my 01 Chrysler 300M?

This is not a job for the novice. If you do get through the repair withour being injured, you will still have to go have your car aligned.

This is dangerous ... working with many unknown forces. If you are bent on doing this repair ... at least get to the library and read up on what you are up against.

2001 300m

Tapping sound could be a worn cam shaft, or a bad valve spring. try adding a bottle of Marvel Mystery oil to free up the spring, since you had the engine apart. Dirt may be the problem. Good luck.
