Color splases can show up when the sets are move from one location to another or when they have been dropped while moving it,another reason is when a speaker is placed to close to the tv.The tv has an internal demagnetizer witch gets activated when you turn the tv on,I suggest to unplug the unit for about 15 minutes and then plug the unit and turn it on,If the unit was dropped this problem might not be repairable.I hope the information helps .

I rekon you have (or have had) a magnetic source like a speaker near the TV. You need to de gause the screen. There is a "de gause" wand that you may be able to hire from somewhere that creates a magnetic field that may reverse the damage, Simply wave the "wand" over the affected area whilst the wand is ON and that may sort it.

Blurry, purple bar across middle of plasma tv screen

Plasma screens are extremely susceptible to getting broken from any impacts to the face of the screen. What you are describing sound very much like distorted or dead pixels. It may not be a fixable issue, you may have to replace the entire unit or live with the purple bar. The reason you don't notice it as much when the screen is dark is because purple is on the darker end of the spectrum, and will be most visible in contrast to lighter ad brighter colors.

Purple tint on corners of television screen

It needs degaussed. Turn the TV off for 24 hours and unplug it. Plug it back in and turn it on. If the degaussing coil in the TV hasn't worked buy a cheap degaussing wand off of ebay. 10 second fix. You can also ask the local repair shop to do it. Anything over $5 I would just buy the wand. Keep magnetic objects as well as electronics away from the TV. Vacuum cleaners can also cause this if it's on the floor.

Purple tinted on preview window?

Canon fixed it without charge (outside the warranty). It's a well-known CCD malfunction that occurs mostly if the camera is used in hot or humid climate. Canon tech support was very helpful (by email) and even paid postage both ways.

Screen is bowed (top and bottom) Color has a green and purple tint?

Your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.

Do not put a colour television near a strong magnetic field. I have confirmed from several experts that this has the undesired effect of causing loss of colour
