Speaker doesnt give sound

I have a HP personal computer and currently my speaker system doesnt give out any sound. However, when i plugged in my headphone i could hear the sound properly. I also tried to use another speaker system and its working properly. In order to fix this problem i have tried the following ways from Microsoft troubleshooter but it still doesnt work: 1. plugged out my power supply for the speaker and keep it out for 30 seconds 2. made sure if all the cables plugged in properly 3. checked if all my sound systems are enabled 4. have the mute volume unchecked Please help me to solve this matter.. thx alot, i really appreciate it

Based on the fact that you have put a headset in and another speaker system and it is working properly there is nothing wrong with your windows settings. I would leave them alone. The issue appears to be with the hardware. Have you attempted to plug the speakers into another source (ie. cd player, ipod, etc)? If you plug them in there and they don't work, take the speakers back and have them exchanged. If they're not under warranty you're going to have to either get them fixed or replace them. Good luck on this one! JC

SOURCE: standard speakers to the computer , low volume

Connections without soldering it does not give proper conductance to the speakers and the integrated audio is good enough for headphones but to get good sound you need an amplifier to increase the output. Alternative is to add a good sound card like 'Aureal' or Yamaha or Creative plus so many available mow in the market and neither are they expensive...........sodeep

There is no sound. I have connected it to my new Toshiba laptop

Hello there,

When you plugged it into your laptop, turned it on and increase the volume, do you hear only a humming sound from the speakers? Try to plug the speaker to an mp3 player as well to test if it still doesnt give out any sound. If it still doesnt, then your speaker must have a wiring connection problem inside that needs resoldering. Here I supposed that your laptop's internal speakers is working and is able to work with other audio devices like a headset or an earphone.

Connected this dual speaker to my cmpact desktop comp and it does not want to work

First step is to assure that the speakers are working. If you have no other computer or sound system to test the speakers, then attach a AA, AAA or C battery to the speakers plug. It makes no difference in the polarity. If it makes a horrible white noise, the speakers are in good working order, if it makes no noise, the speakers are at fault. Should the speakers be ok, then in all probability you have a configuration problem. Go to control panel, select Sound and Audio devices, and check that the proper configuration options have been selected, and that the speaker volume sliders are at least at the 50% mark. If this doesnt solve your problem, then a computer motherboard component might have failed. Keep me posted

Bose Companion 2 Speakers won't work with Sony Vio Laptop

You don't write which operating system you use, but generally you should be able to choose where the sound output goes in the Sound Properties in Control Panel.
If however Sony decided to put some special software that does the thinking for you, and directs the sound output via the HDMI when connected, then you have to dig deeper...

No sound on my hp desktop

Hello,

First and make sure you plugged the speakers into the correct port in the back of the computer. Green port is normally the port you want to plug into. 9 times out of 10 this is the issue. Next, try reinstalling the driver, by going to HP web site and downloading the most current driver. If you don't feel comfortable doing so, I am sure they have a return policy for repairs done incorrectly.

Hp speaker problem. Please help

Check the jack at the back of the computer see if it is inserted fully. if it is give it a spin between your fingers and wiggle a little to see if sound balances out. But don't forget there are several places to balance your speakers in your operating system on your computer. And what program you are using for playback. if the are self amplifing speakers unplug the jack completely out of the back of the computer. and plug in a pair of headphones and listen. If it is balanced there it is from the cable to the speakers. If it is not balanced it is the soundcard or the software. at least this will give you a place to start.
