Sony bdps360 grainy picture issues

PIcture on most discs, even the latest ones with apparently flawless pictures, appears grainy. There's even noticeable grain in the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen on widescreen blu ray films. I've tried a different HDMI cable and different HDMI port on my (Panasonic 1080p) TV

Unfortuneately the problem is in the RF circuits after the laser, but combined in the whole assembly. There is nothing you can do, except if warranty applies take it back.

SOURCE: Not all scenes in full screen

Hey!

The full screen shots are the actions scenes that were filmed in IMAX... there's nothing wrong with your player or disc!

SOURCE: I am trying to hook up a Sony BDP-S360 via HDMI

I don't know what kind of TV you have, but on some TVs the HDMI inputs have to be enabled via the TV setup menu. Try looking at the setup status.

SOURCE: My Blu-ray keeps saying no disc.

This can be caused by a number of different things, some simple ones are:

- Unplug for 5 minutes then replug, this will reset the processor and it may smarten up (just like rebooting a computer)

- Take the unit apart and using a Q-tip and lens cleaner gently clean off the lens of the laser...only do this is you feel comfortable. If there is a hair or obstruction on the lens it will not read discs. If it is still under warranty, send it in first before you take it apart, it may void warranty.

- If the above two do not work then the transport mechanism may be defective and the repair would be around 100 -150 dollars, which is probably not worth repairing and it is best to look at a replacement machine.

Hope this helps!

I have a three year old SONY Blu Ray BDP-s350. I bought a new blu-ray dvd. When I try to play it, just initial picture with title is looping. No menu appears. My old dvds play well. I checked this new dvd...

I'm sorry for the difficulties you're experiencing in playing the new Blu-ray disc in the Sony Blu-ray Player. In most cases, the issue might be with the Java content on the new Blu-ray discs is making these issues. The Blu-ray technology is developing everyday and adding more and more features to the existing technology. Hence it is required to make the Blu-ray Player up-to-date by installing the latest firmware update available from the manufacturer (who ever it is). Going ahead with the first step, please install the latest firmware update available for the Blu-ray Player.

Please click the following link to get the latest firmware update available for your Blu-ray Player:

I'm sure, installing the firmware update should resolve the issue. If you need any further clarification/assistance, please let me know.
Thanks for understanding.

I have an hitatchi L42VC04U H tv, the picture is fine watching sports or programmes filmed outside but when it shows a scene from indoors the picture appears very grainy, has anyone else encountered this?

Hi, I bought the Hitachi 42in. L42VCO4U H from Argos, on offer £399.00 (great buy & price for named product)
I find the same, very grainy picture at times. Most programes
are fine, but seems to pixelate on darker colours, particularly
black. Have asked & told that it is common on large screen tvs, unless you pay a lot more money, & get one that has a better resolution. Sorry I cant help any more, than explaining my experience. If you get any other advise, please inform me.

Grainy bdmv platyback

You have a couple of options.
1. Turn down the sharpness on your TV. Too much is overkill, anyway.
2. Whilst watching any movie, hit the triangle button for the movie settings & options. Turn up the noise reduction to +3, also the "mosquito" noise to +3.
These should give you a less grainy picture. Enjoy!

Picture goes out of focus

This is a classic example of a bad connection that sufficiently changes a circuit characteristic to cause a problem. If you can solder, you can fix this yourself. Look for any connections on the board that appear grainy or have rings and resolder them. That should resolve the problem. Note: there are potentially dangerous high voltages present inside the set even when unplugged. So be careful.

Polaroid i1035: Bad quality pictures, appear grainy and fuzzy

The grainy effect has to do do with the ISO setting, try adjusting that. A higher ISO is generally better for darker conditions. I have noticed that this camera frequently takes grainy images.

I would suggest getting another optical block from the repair man. Apparently even some replacement blocks have had issues...

Sony TV Toubleshooting Help

I had the same problem. Can't remember where, but I had to re-solder some joints. If you look very closely to the bottom of the motherboard, you might be able to see a cracked solder joint, otherwise carefully touch each one to fix it. Easy fix and the tv's been running flawless for going on 3 years now.
Be careful to not touch anything on the high voltage side with your hands. Even with it unplugged.
