Just picked one of these up... Go into the AUDIO menu scroll down to LANGUAGE.. Mine was set to UNKNOWN 1 , change to UNKNOWN 2 . Audio was restored to the Local channels that it was missing on.

Added note: you will need to upgrade the firmware in the Hitachi Plasma TV. This will require a 1 Gig or smaller SD card and a laptop, if you try to use a larger size SD card the TV will not Recognize the SD card. Go to the Hitachi website technical support and find your model TV and follow there instructions on how to upgrade the firmware on your Hitachi Plasma TV. Know I have audio on all of the off air channels with no issues.

Most likely the set (in its menu) is set to SAP or secondary audio program==this is for channels that offer simulcast of programs in English or Spanish etc.

Look for the setting and if SAP is highlighted try to select Stereo.

I am having difficulty hooking up my old VCR to a TCL Roku TV.

Check the shielding of your antenna. Moreover make distance between VCR and antenna cable. In fact VCRs have a built in modulator and its signal is strong as compared to local antenna signal. There is another way, connect the local antenna in VCR RF In and connect RF Out of VCR to TV. In this scenario you have to tune your VCR to get the antenna channels instead of TV. It will solve your problem.

I just purchased an indoor antenna for to view local stations. Can i use an indoor antenna for my olevia 232-t11 lcd-hdtv? If I can, what steps do I need to follow?

Yes you can use an indoor antenna. Just make sure it is an HD antenna to get the digital channels clearly. You will have to do a scan to pick up local channels. In the TV menu, it will ask you if you want to scan for "cable" channels or "antenna" channels. You want to choose antenna.

Can't get local channels even though it is hooked up to an antenna

You may need to elevate the height of the antenna or verify the wire connections. If you have done that, try another convertor.

Does emerson model #20s5b have a switch to convert from cable to satilite?

It's in the channel programming menu. It should say, "Cable/Ant" or "Cable/Air" If you want a roof antenna with local channels, change it to "Air/Ant" Then click auto program with the antenna hooked to it to scan for free local channels.

Do i need just an antenna or one of those digital converter boxes to get just local channels in Denver on this TV?

If your TV was made after 2007 it should have the digital receiver built in. If so you can just hook any antenna you wish up and receive all your local channels.
