How to split my screen on my 60 inch LG plasma TV? My wife would like to watch a show while I play my PS3 at the same time?

hmm normally these settings are found in the picture settings of the set top box or just a setting in the tv's picture settings now there might be an option to say fill screen that may work best for some or leave the tv in 16:9 some broadcasts may only be in 4:3 at times this is normal broadcasting and not much can be done unless the setting on the picture option is set to fill screen

Sounds possibly like image retention. If you watch the same channels often any recurring text, logos, or graphics, especially white colored, can ghost on the screen.(playing the same videogame for a long period can also have the same effect) Watching other programs or channels will cause the ghosting to disappear.

To prevent image retention you need to activate the TVs anti image retention mode(Called ISM Method). On Zenith and LG (the manufacturer of Zenith T
s) plasma TVs open the TVs menu, select the Option section (picture of a briefcase with a wrench). Select ISM Method and change it to Orbiter, this is reccomended if you watch programs or channels (or play videogames) that have still images for long periods of time. It moves the image a little every couple minutes.

If watching others channels or programs doesn't make the image disappear, change the ISM Method to either Color Wash or White Wash (don't use White Wash frequently, it over excites the plasma gas and can shorten the life of your TV if overused) for a few minutes and then return to Orbiter.

There is no other way than replacing the screen.

I had a problem similar to that. I couldn't get a full picture from my laptop or desktop. I went into the menu and hit the adjust screen. Now I have a full picture on my 50" plasma tv.

Yes,what wrong with ur 60" LG Plasma tv,but not if ur screen panel is broken or damage,because replacing the screen panel it cost the same as a new tv,might even more after the labors.The screen panel's are 90% of the tv that why.It also limited producced by the tv industries.

Hello, same thing happened to my 10 day old 60ps60 and we called LG and they came out and put "pin tighteners" on the Y board. All they are are these little white plastic clips that the technician put on the connectors. It is nothing you can fix. Call LG

the tv must see an input connected. try turning on the game before the tv.

I am a TV repair technician and what you are experiencing with your plasma and PS3 is a HDMI compatibility problem. The Philips plasma and the PS3 electronic handshaking (EDID) are not right. This happens alot with an older version of HDMI like 1.1(Philips Plasma) and a newer version of HDMI 1.3 (PS3). A tv firmware or PS3 firmware update will not resolve the problem. I would recommend using the HD component video cables and that should work just fine for playing High Definition BluRay movies.
