SOURCE: JVC GR-D250 does not record properly

When playing the tape in the camera itself, do you hear sound? If so, its something with the connection cable... is not, you will need a professional repair, you can do nothing except the head clean which you did? Sorry.

SOURCE: head cleaning required

i have the JVC MiniDV Digital Video Cleaning Cassette. I began having trouble when I was shooting DV24P and when I went to playback I noted audio dropouts. I'm using SONY Premium DVM60 tapes. I began having Head Cleaning Required message. I have ran the Cleaning Cassette and the message disappears, but even trying a brand new tape, switching to DV playback i get the error message. Luckily, the shoot i was on the master audio was being captured by a secondary device and we were able to simply use the video from my camera. Since then, I was able to play & capture both the video & audio previously recorded in HDV30P and I didnt receive an error message. Now though I cannot record any DV audio without dropouts. When I tested just moments ago, I was able to record HDV and both video & audio were clean, but during playback I still received the Head Cleaning message. Is the record head different from the playback head? Can you manually clean the heads by removing the plastic door cover with a lintfree cotton swab and rubbing alcohol (obviously disconnecting and removing all power & powering off prior to cleaning), the same way any previous machine heads were cleaned in our stations? I think I may have got a batch of bad tapes that may have gunked up one of the heads some where and its getting missed by the cleaning tape. Is is possible that the head has been scratched, and will require replacement. If yes, is there any way to look at the head and detect this?

JVC Gr-DVL300 Won't playback

The heads are probably dirty. First you can try to let a tape run through from start to end and see if it cleans the head. then try running in reverse play scan. Next try a head cleaner tape if you have not yet. If these things do not get your picture back you should take it to a repair shop, I do not recomend taking camcorders apart for cleaning at home. Full size VCR's are ok to clean your self with instructions but not camcorders because they are vary easy to damage worse without experiance and proper tools.

Dirty video head! Playback newly opened blank tape for five minutes, after that eject, reinsert, playback then eject again five times, these will serve as your video head cleaner, never use "video head cleaning cassette tape" for it will only damage your camera. Most camera has built in video head cleaner installed inside and activates only when you insert, initial play/rec, and ejects a tape. If the problem is still there you need pro fix then.[:0)

Jvc camera model gr-d270u

hi , if you have the rec. signal in the display that mean evry thing is going good exept the head needs leaning too ways to have it solved if you know about cleaning then take off the cassete cover by unscew the two screws then with a clean white piece of paper hold it in one hand over the head cylender and with the second hand rotate the cylender some turnes and re record and check if you don't want or know how to open and do it just use the head cleaning tape and buy one if u don't have and play it in the cam., so easy , please don't forget to rate ,thanx
