To connect with windows, the first step you have to intstaled Palm. OS. 4.1. It's the operating sistem to operate your clie palm. I've perobelm laki this before, but it solved.

I had the same problems. I downloaded PalmDesktop Win62.exe update from Palm.com and it recognized my USB connection, did away with the port error and hotsynced immediately. I messed with that thing for 3 weeks before I finally tried the update. It says it's not for the peg-n760c, but it works! I don't think they want you to update, but rather buy a new pda. Good luck!
