Maytag LAT9235AAE fills with water....

My Maytag LAT9235AAE top load washer fills up with water but does not aggitate or spin. The timer moves thru its cycle like it normally would but nothing is happening. I have checked the dorr switch and the motor for continuity which it has. Check all connection for either burnt or loose connections. Everything is fine. I was told it may be the load switch, but if it was the load switch the timer could not go thru all its cycles right? Water level switch is working because it fills to each level I request. Could it be the timer???? Or what am I missing???

The pressue switch hose goes to the back of the water level selector level switch right? If so as soon as I remove that hose more water fill the tub and does not stop....I blew in it as you stated and all that happened were bubbles coming thru the tub. Is there something I did wrong or something I missed!

Okay I did what you said to do...A straw fit it perfectly. I heard the switch engauge and disengauge....This stopped the water from filling but did not make the washer aggitate. The timer is moving thru all of its cycles as if the it was actually running. What else could it be???

I had the same problem. and I did the suggestion dated 9/26/06. Too another piece of hose and attached it to the water level switch and blew into it. and the machine began aggitating. My question is... DO I replace the hose?? or switch?? Now that I have purchased a new machine. I find a solution, Oh well. thanks df

Pt, as long as you verified the lid switch is good, do this simple test. Get a piece of hose the same size as the one going to the pressure switch, connect it and blow into it. See if it starts agitating. If it does, there's your problem..Catriver post back.

Pt, pull the hose off the water level switch (pressure switch) and attach another piece to it and blow into the switch. See if it starts agitating. Catriver..post back

Top loading washer that won't aggitate, or rinse.

without knowing more details, and considering it's age , my guess is that you have a disconnection (or a loose wire) to the solenoids under the tub. these solenoids activate the clutch system that pulls it into agitate and spin modes. it might be the solenoids, but rarely do both go out at the same time. it might be the timer contacts or connections behind the control panel. or, it might be the timer its self.
try unplugging the unit and check all the connections.
hope this helps jay

GE WJSR1070A top loader wont aggitate.

You either have a bad timer, transmission, or the agitator is stripped on the splined shaft

Washer won't stop filling with water

In yor machine control panel you have A part called a pressure switch or water level switch. that controls the water level and tells the timer to start aggitating .If the part is bad the machine will over fill and keep running the water!!

MAYTAG LAT9235AAE TOP LOAD WASHER WILL NOT WORK

Pt, Should be a yellow wire from the water level switch according to the diagram I have. See if it has 120V to motor when full. Just take it to ground. Same with the lid switch in closed position, it shows here as yellow, but could be grey, these diagrams are not always accurate. I think you have a level switch or lid switch problem. Check for voltage to the motor when it should be agitating. Catriver..post back.
