Don't know how to set the date except by winding the time dial repeatedly past 12 to get to present date--must be an easier way

I presume that you are winding the watch 24 hours to change the date.

You can shorten the time it takes to change the dates in the following manner:-

Wind the watch until the date changes, then turn it back until it passes 12 again and then turn it forward. Each time it passes 12 the date should increase by a day.

You may have to experiment to find how far past 12 in both directions to get the date to change.

Can i change the battery in my baum & mercier acier inox watch or do i have to take it to a dealer.

mcdevito75 here, On this make watch it may be best to bring it to a small watch repair shop in your area. Unless you have changed many watch batteries you could end up scratching the watch, damageing the crystal etc. anyway, the battery is good for a year so why take the chance on hurting the watch.

Does not keep time

mcdevito75 here, Yes and No, While any sharp, sudden, or very hard motion of your hand, wrist or arm can hurt a watch, it seldom does, most of the time you"d have to actually bang the watch against a hard surface, Wall, Floor etc to effct the movement, and usually you just scratch the crystal or caseing. .
