Hi all, I have this HD for a long while, I now put it to work with my PC, but when I open it, it doesn't have any CD for the HD to configure. Only the power cord and cable were found. When I plugged in the LAN light is solid, the 10/100 light is solid, the LAN light (blue) is blinking, the power light (green) is solid. I can't make it to work. Would you please guide me how to do. I appreciate it very much. Thanks a lot.

You are going to need a paper clip. Look fo a small hole next to the switch. straighten the paper clip and put it in the hole in the center. carefully push to activate the mechansium to open the door. Then you can troubleshoot the door. Turn off the computer then pull the power cord from it. Open the computer case find the power cable to the cdrom/dvdcdrw and push it in to make sure you have good connection. If it still doesn't work after this then you can get a new drive for less than $30.00 (usd)
Hi, i think you don't need and update, are you using win7, XP?, just use the windows installer disk when you've fitted it, put the new HD drive in, then boot from DVD/CD. back up pic/photos 1st mind... let me know..
If this doesn't work put your old HD back in and it will boot up as normal...
GPU: PCI Express x16-based graphics. Support cards include ATI RADEON
X1600Pro/X1300LE or nVIDIA GeForce 7900GS/7600GS/7300GS, up to latest

Hi, please check the power connector to the drive. if it is ok, restart the pc, enter BIOS setup, check whether the drive is detected or not in the drive configuration. if not there, check the jumper settings once again. for the new motherboards with one IDE and SATA interfaces, jumper settings are important. once i had the same problem.
good luck
Hi,
Your idea is basically correct. Other alternatives are:
1. Boot from and run Basic MS-DOS or FreeDOS with disk utilities in the FDD of the PC where the HD(s) installed. Set to boot first in FDD in the CMOS/BIOS;
2. Run MS-DOS or FreeDOS with disk utilities in a CD in the CD ROM of the PC where the HD(s) installed. Set to boot first in FDD in the CMOS/BIOS;
3. Use an external enclosure to connect the IDE & power connections of the HDs to a USB port of another working Windows PC. Is is similar to your idea but you need not open up the 2nd PC nut would require the interface device.
Hope this be of some help/idea. post back how things turn up or should you need further information.
Good luck and kind regards.
