There is a key on the keyboard that has blue text on it. Something to the effect of LCD or CRT. With the monitor connected and turned on, press and hold the FCN KEY as well as the LCD/CRT key. While holding the FCN key keep hitting the CRT key until the image transfers to the external monitor

Hold the fn key and look for something that looks like this ‘I[]I’ on your keyboard with the TV connected. The key is usually on the numbers across the top.

SOURCE: dvi port doesn't work with 23'' samsung monitor

6710b does not support DVI even though they never said so in the documentation, i'm betting that 6715b does not either. I'm pretty bummed about it. My nc6400 worked great, just switched to the 6710 and my dual monitors would not work, with a little research i found that the DVI on the docking station, simply is not supported. No matter what your monitor configuration is...Ctrl+Alt+Del to you too HP!

VGA-HDMI connection fail on Acer projector using adapter

You don't say whether or not the "adapter" is simply a gender-changer, or if it actually converts the digital signal from the HDMI port to an analog one for the VGA port. Some monitors have both analog and digital input capability and can automatically adapt to the the digital signal, even if applied to the VGA (analog) port. Other devices are not so smart and need an actual digital-to-analog converter style adapter.

2nd monitor does not work with DVI to VGA converter cable. My video card has VGA and DVi ouputs.

The problem could be in the adapter to the video card. There are different types of DVI connections. If the adapter does not have the proper set of pins then the card will not recognize that a monitor is connected at that port. Monitors themselves have no bearing on whether a single or dual monitor set up will work or not. Digital Visual Interface Follow this link, it may help you determine if the adapter you are using is correct for the graphics card.

Clearco HD 9000 connected but 'no signal' from PC. Thanks

This projector has a maximum input resolution of 800 x 600, so if your computer is set to a higher one (which it probably is) and the projector is connected to your primary output, you'll see nothing. Here's what to do:
If you have 2 outputs as most video cards do nowadays connect the projector to one and the PC to the other. (you may need a DVI-VGA adaptor, usually one comes with your video card if you do).

Right click on an empty bit of desktop. A pop-up menu will appear and one of the items will be the control panel for your video card (usually nVidia or ATI). Start that up, and there will be an option to connect multiple monitors, as well whether you want cloned output or an extended desktop. You can set your resolution here. Make the projector your secondary monitor. It does not matter if it cloned or and extended desktop - if it is extended you can drag media player into it and maximize it to watch films etc, but cloned is best for games. make sure the reolution of the secondary monitor is no more than 1024x768.

If you have only one video ouput from your PC, go into video settings as before and just make sure that the resolution is set to 1024 x 768 or lower before you connect the projector.

When connected, keep pressing the input button until it toggles to VGA mode. Should work now.

How do I connect a projector to my G60

Hello

  1. Start by making sure the laptop and projector are both turned off before you start trying to make any connections.
  2. Locate the video cable -Usually your computer should have a svideo ort out. The projector should have either a hdmi or a RCA immput ports, thus you need a svieo to rca cable. Otherwise your laptop should have a VGA port oout where the projectorr should have a VGA port in.
  3. Make sure both ends are securely connected and tighten if necessary. Use a screwdriver or small pliers to tighten the connectors. A loose connection at either end will prevent you from displaying your presentation.
  4. Locate the audio cable and connect the audio cable included with the projector to the Audio Out on the laptop and Audio In on the projector. Make sure these connections are tight.
  5. Start your laptop and the projector. Make sure to check all connections to ensure they have been properly connected.
Really hope this can help you.

Kind regards
Andrea

Connecting Macbook with a compaq MP1400 digital projector

You're going to need a conversion dongle that goes from the Mini-DVI to VGA.

Then:
  1. Connect one end of the projector signal cable to the Video Graphics Array (VGA) connector on the projector.
  2. Connect the other end of the projector signal cable to the Digital Video Interface (DVI) connector or VGA connector on the notebook computer and tighten the screws.
  3. Connect the projector power cord to the power cord connector on the projector.
  4. Connect the other end of the power cord to an electrical outlet that is easily accessible and close to the projector.
  5. Turn on the projector first, then turn on the computer.
