I have it completely dissassembled but the screen seems glued to the front plastic of tha laptop
Ummm, i'd doubt that it is glued unless you had the screen repair previously by a shoddy repair shop. First of all normally the screens are held in place by screws that are hidden by little rubber bumper covers or some type of covering on the plastic that is around the screen. Use a safety pin or small flat head screwdriver to remove the covers and expose the screws. Then use a phillips head screw driver to remove the screws. Once all the screws are removed use your fingers to slide along the inside of the plastic around the screen and pry it loose from the screen.

Memory: 512 for Vista Home basic, 1GB or higher for Vista Home Premium, Business, or Ultimate. The video in the laptop must be 16 mb or higher. You MUST meet the minimum requirements or the install and startup will fail.

If you're able to get online, try looking here, and download the driver for your operating system http://www.synaptics.com/support/drivers
This should help you with your issue, and also give you the ability to tweak the way you want your trackpad to respond.
