Ummm, i'd doubt that it is glued unless you had the screen repair previously by a shoddy repair shop. First of all normally the screens are held in place by screws that are hidden by little rubber bumper covers or some type of covering on the plastic that is around the screen. Use a safety pin or small flat head screwdriver to remove the covers and expose the screws. Then use a phillips head screw driver to remove the screws. Once all the screws are removed use your fingers to slide along the inside of the plastic around the screen and pry it loose from the screen.

SOURCE: install vista to hp pavilion dv5 laptop

Make sure the laptop meets or exceeds the resources needed to run Vista. For all versions of Vista, at least a 1 ghz processor or higher, and 20 to 25 GB of free space on the hard drive. Memory: 512 for Vista Home basic, 1GB or higher for Vista Home Premium, Business, or Ultimate. The video in the laptop must be 16 mb or higher. You MUST meet the minimum requirements or the install and startup will fail.

SOURCE: hp pavillion dv5 1104tu laptop problem with down

If you're able to get online, try looking here, and download the driver for your operating system http://www.synaptics.com/support/drivers

This should help you with your issue, and also give you the ability to tweak the way you want your trackpad to respond.

Laptop screen replacement

If you've removed the screws that is on the plastic that is around the outter edges of the screen then use a little force with your fingers to pry the plastic bezel apart from around the screen. Normally this is snuggly snapped into place around the screen. Surely some knucklehead did not apply glue to it.

Dear Friend,

HP Pavillions are not good... Buy a new Laptop that dosnt use Nvidia graphics card.

The problem resides in the graphics card Heating up to madness.
If you know how to open your Laptop, Dissassemble it and remove the processor. Heat up the Graphics card with a hair blower for 5 to 10 minutes. put the hair dryer about 1 cm distant to the graphics card.
After that - let it cool and make sure you put back everything correctly, screw it up and Voila...
Your laptop is new again..

Hi I have a hp laptop pavillion and the screen does not come on.

Good day sir, hi, your HP can either be of the ff.
  1. your lcd back light is bad, your lcd screen is dark, but you can see HD light blinking. This is happening when the laptop is loading windows. problem with the inverter circuit that provides power to the back light.
  2. Your back light is bad also can produce no visible screen.
The said problem can be repairable by simply replacing the said parts. but you need to dissassemble the laptop, Or get it repaired by your dealer. either of the two said solution you need cash. but check out first the warranty or estimates of repair. get the best deal.

HP Pavillion DV4000 notebook display shading

It sounds very much like an inverter issue. The inverter sits under the lcd screen in the screen plastics. It is replaceable, but obviously there is a danger the screen may get damaged.

Hp pavillion dv6-1030us just order my new screen how do i take the front and back bezel off looking for a video link not finding all the screws on front thanks

The procedure to replace the display is outlined in the maintenance and service guide.

Refer to the Display Assembly beginning on page 81 for the "complete" disassembly instructions.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01758220.pdf

The maintenance guide gives you step by step procedures to remove the monitor and most importantly... how to remove the bezel "properly".

I have an HP Pavillion and I dropped an empty plastic bottle on keyboard. The screen went blank and the computer screen is black . I have tried restarting but nothing happens. DW

Its broken. RUN to your nearest HP service center. Pray that they still honor your warranty. well, you should have removed the battery and power supply and let it dry for a couple of hours. you need to have placed it in a warm place to make sure it has completely dried... when it has then that is the right time to open your laptop. if not. you could have shorted some circuits. good luck.

Video card screwed on presario v3000 (known issue)

The mainboard or motherboard is the main PCB in the laptop. It is the most difficult component to replace because you must completely disassemble the laptop to remove it and properly install the new one. Take the battery out, ground yourself and discharge the laptop by pressing the power button for a few seconds. Most laptops start dissassembling by removing the power button/led panel above the keyboard, and then removing the keyboard, de-attaching the LCD screen assembly. And then flipping it over and removing screws on the bottom, then the laptop will split in two peices, the top part of the chassis and then the bottom half which is where the motherboard will be attached. If you decide to continue organize your screws, label them or take pictures to help you get it back together. Hope this helps you get started.

Screen Distorded

You're either missing a piece of the screen or something's installed wrong. The order should be 1: front protective screen 2: the lenticular, and 3: fresnel lens.

All is supposed to be assembled with double sided tape, one being a special ultra-thin clear tape. DO NOT USE GLUE

Good luck, Mark
