Look at your maintenance manual. To find where your fuse box is located(may be under the hood or under the steering wheel). When you find the fuse box look on the back of the panel flap and you'll find a fuse map. Locate the fuse that corresponds with your problem. It could be the same fuse but not likely. If fuse is blown then replace it with a spare. Most manufacturers will put spare fuses in the box or you could pull a fuse from some where else just to try and see if the problem is still there( make sure it's the same size and understand that it could blow this fuse as well then you will need 2 fuses). Most of the time fuses don't just blow. For some reason it pulled to much load. Probably a dead short in the wiring. I hope this helps.
Hi,I was jamming yesterday and while playing not very loud the mixer went off and never worked again, also cut out the stereo amps I was using to power big speakers, been using it for about 5 hours one a week for last few months with no probs,Q:is there a fuse inside that may have blown? There was a 3amp in the normal plug which stated 5amp but worked fine for ages,I replaced it with another 3amp seeing I didn't have a 5 amp but no power, have you any ideas what to do because I need this working quick and can't afford another one,it's a behringer xenyx 1222fx mixer.
Any help would be amazing
Thanks
Mike
Thanks for choosing FixYa. More then likely, you need to enter the unlock code on your radio. It locks up when there is a power loss. As far as the code, it may be in your owner manual or you may need to contact Ford to get it.
take one of the front speakers out and pull out the head unit and unplug a set of audio wires(front right, front left ect.) and hook it up directly from the radio to the speaker there for bypassing all the cars wires. If it works then there's a problem with the car's wiring(maybe an inline amp). If it doesn't work, then try a known good speaker from somewhere else(home stereo speaker for example) and connect it to the radio, if the speaker works, your radio is fine and there may be a problem with the speakers. If it doesn't work then you have a problem with the head unit.
Did you check the fuse behind your stereo. IF you did and it still wont come on you either lost power to it or it may be time to have your unit repaired or replaced. You should have inline fuses behind the stereo use a test light to check that there is power coming to your fuse
it sounds like one channel in your amp had shorted and letting dc go to the speaker...a speaker is an electromagnet and requires ac to make it pulse..the amp has a blown channel and would have to be repaired and a factory service center...there is no quick fix..
