Apparently, it needs a new DVD deck. You may contact Samsung for the warranty repair.
Some dvd players that have been bought now, are made with a non piracy watching device, this means if the dvd player picks up that the dvd is a pirated movie, it will not play, thats why you are seeing difficulties here, it is better to buy an older dvd player off somebody else, give it a good clean and you will find they are perfect, they are even better then eome of the new ones, i say stick with the old and out with the new, you will see the difference if you swtch to a different dvd player. thanks
Mostly its said by samsung that only sony or panasonic dvd + can be used,so better to return machine if within warrenty
Hi,
It may be that the issue is with the recorded disc(s). All recorded discs have to be finalized in the unit that produced/recorded them. One way to try is to use the same recorded disc(s) in another standalone player and see if it will play. Further it could be checked back in the CD/DVD writer that did the recording and check if it will play. If no,likewise, then you have confirmed the "finalizing" requirement, if yes it will play, then the problem is compatibility with the Samsung DVD HR730. You may need to check region limitations.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
Some CD rewriter work fine only with determined disks.
Some CD rewriter work fine only with determined disks. For example they can only read +R DVDs or -R ones.
Some player cannot even read non original ones.
If you are using +R try using a dvd -R and see ads it goes.
If it starts reading the disk only after several attempts, and in the meanwile you get only whirring and clicking noise with the disk not reading, then it is a lens problem.
That may happen because the lens is dirty or defective,
If lens are dirty , it cannot read the initial track near the centre of the CD. The CD starts spinning and stops before reading the tracks, until with some luck it reads the tracks.
In this case you clean the lens with a good cleaner disk, or access ing lens pickup and using cotton and isopropyl alcool.
In your case it looks more like the lens pickup is defective and must be replaced.
Call the phone number listed on the manual to get assistance, validate the warranty , or buy parts.
