1. If you have blue screen give us the exception code (0x000000)
2. How did you get to this point?
3. What is the condition of you install disk? Windows setup could just be messing up because the windows disk is damaged. Find an OEM copy of windows and set it up to boot from flash drive or external drive (CDs at prone to damage if you want a reliable windows install only use optical media if its in pristine condition.)
turn off your antivirus before you try to revert back to xp. your system antivirus might see this as an attack on your windows 7,thus it won't allow you to install a different system.
You're getting what's known as the 'blue screen of death' as some may call it. This happens for various reasons, but usually occurs when Windows encounters a conflict with a hardware component in your laptop. When you try to install XP, are you doing so as a secondary operating system (dual OS boot) or are you trying to install it over Windows 7? If you are installing XP over Windows 7, try doing a full format during setup instead of the usual quick setup. This may take some time, possibly requiring you to format the hard drive overnight but it may well solve any 'blue screen' issues you're experiencing.

what version of windows is this? If it is before windows 7 like xp or windows 98, as examples, then it should be noted that windows xp and older operating systems are no longer supported fully by microsoft. Vista and 7 are more current operating systems.
Its mostly caused by some internal OS software problems or by any hardware failure. Try repairing your Windows 7 once by using your Windows 7 setup DVD and alsl remove your RAM and replace it once. If the problems persists let me know.
this happened because you downloaded and installed a trial version of windows 7.You will need to buy the full version for the program to work properly.Just get the disk insert it,restart the computer and go to the setup menu. There you will be able to install the program.
without knoiwing the motherboard number its not possible to give a definate answere but i would say the board is driver locked to Vista or above this being the case you cannot install winXP that we all know and love
