Restart the Computer and keep tapping the F8 key till you see the advance boot options, You should be tapping the key as soon as you see the manufactures screen. Once you get the advance boot options -> Select the option which says Disable Automatic Startup on System Failure. Good Luck!!!
From your description, your A/C adapter (power charger) is faulty and needs to be replaced. Look online or at a local shop for a replacement. Targus manufactures a good A/C adapter. Check to see what adapter works with your laptop.
Try with another charger.
If it still shows the error, try cleaning the gold contacts where the charger connects to the phone and connect the charger again.
If the error still shows, try replacing the battery.
Finally, if none of the above work, you'll have to contact Sony Ericsson to fix your phone.
before you connect your K770i phone, please notice several things:
1. have you installed ur phone driver?
2. what OS do you have in your computer? is it compatible?
This is usually a software issue on K series Sony Ericsson Handsets, try using the Sony Ericsson Update Service to Update or Re-Install the phones firmware...
Its available to download from the Sony Ericsson support site if you dont already have it

Remember though if your phone is unlocked, the unlock for these may have been a Flash Patch unlock so you might have to get it unlocked again afterwards...
This has happened to me twice - the first instance occurred when I'd only had the phone a few days and the second occurred today after months of trouble-free use.
On both occasions the phone wouldn't charge via the mains charger - it wouldn't switch on even when plugged in and neither the battery or the charger were warm to the touch after hours of charging, indicating that nothing was happening.
The solution for me was to connect the phone to my PC via the USB cable - nothing happened at first, the PC didn't recognise the phone and it remained lifeless. However, I left it attached to my PC and after 10-15 minutes it suddenly whirred into life.
The battery was COMPLETELY flat despite my attempts at mains charging, so I let it charge via USB for a while then transferred it to the mains charger. This time the mains charger worked.
I've no idea why, but this has worked for me twice so give it a try.
