I bought a new Lenovo laptop and installed Windows 7. It looks like the computer doesn't recognize it's network hardware and therefore I can't connect to the Internet. In the device manager it shows under "Other devices" a non recognized "Network controller". I guess that I need a driver but I don't know which.
SOURCE: Usb port refuses to recognize plug in hardwares,
You can check from the Device Manager and see if you can enable it from there. Right click on your My Computer and choose Manage. On the left panel click on Device Manager. From your right, expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers. Right click on each on the list and choose Enable.
Also so you can go and check on your BIOS settings and see if the USB port is enabled.
Goodluck and hope this helps.
SOURCE: need an optical driver for my dvd/cd-rw lenovo
well it's possible that your cd-rom actually is just permanently malfunctioning, i've seen it numerous times (i repair pc's and laptops for a living) the driver should automatically load using windows. the only driver i can find for the optical drive is for dos and people using win 3.1

SOURCE: CD driver not being recognized
this is a tough one. I found this at acer:Optical Drive
8X DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive or DVD/CD-RW Combo
(varies by model)
The bad news is the part where it says varies by model. You will need the exact model of the drive to get the proper driver for it. My advice is to take it to an Acer shop and ask them to identify the cd drive for you.
SOURCE: DVD drive does not recognize dvd's
You need to go to the Lenova web site and download and install the most up to date drivers for your Drive. It is possible to go into System manager and uninstall the device, then reboot and have it reload the device using auto detect. If that doesn't work install the New Drivers you download. If neither of these fixes the problem you may have a drive that has gone bad. You should check with the manufacturer to see if it is a warranty repair. Otherwise you will need to buy the device and replace it. Good Luck

Make sure drive is seen in BIOS, if not, re-seat the drive. If still not seen in BIOS reset defaults and check again. If still not seen, replace the drive.
If the drive is seen in BIOS, then use the following to resolve.
