Laptop doesn't connect to the internet

I bought a new Lenovo laptop and installed Windows 7. It looks like the computer doesn't recognize it's network hardware and therefore I can't connect to the Internet. In the device manager it shows under "Other devices" a non recognized "Network controller". I guess that I need a driver but I don't know which.

If this is brand new, did it come with the window 7 disc? usually all laptops I have come across the operational system is already installed and ready to go. The only thing I can suggest is go online to Lenovo and see if there is an updated driver for windows 7

SOURCE: Usb port refuses to recognize plug in hardwares,

You can check from the Device Manager and see if you can enable it from there. Right click on your My Computer and choose Manage. On the left panel click on Device Manager. From your right, expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers. Right click on each on the list and choose Enable.

Also so you can go and check on your BIOS settings and see if the USB port is enabled.

Goodluck and hope this helps.

SOURCE: need an optical driver for my dvd/cd-rw lenovo

well it's possible that your cd-rom actually is just permanently malfunctioning, i've seen it numerous times (i repair pc's and laptops for a living) the driver should automatically load using windows. the only driver i can find for the optical drive is for dos and people using win 3.1

SOURCE: CD driver not being recognized

this is a tough one. I found this at acer:Optical Drive
8X DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive or DVD/CD-RW Combo
(varies by model)

The bad news is the part where it says varies by model. You will need the exact model of the drive to get the proper driver for it. My advice is to take it to an Acer shop and ask them to identify the cd drive for you.

SOURCE: DVD drive does not recognize dvd's

You need to go to the Lenova web site and download and install the most up to date drivers for your Drive. It is possible to go into System manager and uninstall the device, then reboot and have it reload the device using auto detect. If that doesn't work install the New Drivers you download. If neither of these fixes the problem you may have a drive that has gone bad. You should check with the manufacturer to see if it is a warranty repair. Otherwise you will need to buy the device and replace it. Good Luck

SOURCE: dvd drive not recognized by system

Make sure drive is seen in BIOS, if not, re-seat the drive. If still not seen in BIOS reset defaults and check again. If still not seen, replace the drive.

If the drive is seen in BIOS, then use the following to resolve.

No connection between my z7u and my windows 7 computer!, how can i download the driver?

when you bought the camera,is the seller give you the driver CD?
normally, windows 7 doesn't need any driver to connect a device, there's might be an error when the windows installed the driver
I recomend you to go to the Device Manager, uninstall the current driver, and try to connect your camera again, the windows will re-install the driver automatically
And if you can't find the driver on the internet, you can go to the shop and ask for the driver CD
If those doesn't fix your problem, give me the detail series of your camera and i'll search the internet for it :-)

Afer i reformat my lenevo 3000 g430 i can't connect anymore to a wifi connection

Hi Welcome to FixYa!
Have you already installed the drivers for your computer? If not yet, it could be the reason why you are not able to use your wifi. Follow these steps so that you could know what to do next:
1)check the device manager in Windows: A)if you are using Windows 7 or Vista: -click on Start, then on the searchbox, kindly search for Device Manager and open it. You should have something like this: mondimondz_1.png
B)if you are using Windows XP: click on start>run>type devmgmt.msc and it will open the device manager Window.
2)If you will find a category that says Other Devices, kindly look for a item that says "Network Controller" if you find it, it means that the Wifi adapter on the comptuer is not yet installed. All you need to do is insert the drivers disc CD if one came with the computer when you bought it. If not, you could try connecting the laptop to the modem directly using a cable and download the driver from Lenovo's support website: www.support.lenovo.com

3)If you still cannot connect with a direct connection, the Ethernet adapter could have been not yet installed also. You could also check it on the Device Manager window and look for Ethernet Controller under Other Devices. or check the category Network Adapters and see if the Ethernet Adapter is installed.
4)if the drivers are already installed, you can try contacting your Internet Provider or call Lenovo's Technical Support Team.
hope this would be a big help!

I have recently bought a new computer and i installed the software, but the machine will not recognise the computer, can it be installed on computer with the new windows 7 or do i need an update??

Yes, it can be installed on Windows 7. Check the Futura support sight at www.Futura-support.com and look on the right hand side under downloads. There's a download listed for CE150/250/350, etc, that applies to XP 32 & 64 bit, Vista and Windows 7 32 & 64 bit. Follow the directions CAREFULLY! If this doesn't work for you, I've posted a set of instructions under CE100 solutions for running the CE100 software on Windows Vista/7 by installing a Virtual Machine software on Windows 7 that works regardless of the situation.

The update should work for you perfectly, however. Just make sure you uninstall the Futura software and reboot your machine BEFORE you do anything else and follow the instructions from the website carefully! Good luck!

I NEED MY WEBCAM WORKING IN LENOVO N500 WINDOWS 7

You need to enable the webcam by pressing Fn+Esc or Fn+F10 key combination. Also see if you can find the latest version of drivers on the lenovo support website for Windows 7 or at least Windows Vista. If it still doesnt get detected at least in device manager, try flashing the system BIOS to the latest version available on lenovo support website.
