Frigidaire gas range makes loud whirring sound when oven is set above 250

I just purchased and a frigidaire gas stove and had it professionally installed. When i turn the oven on to any temp above 250 it begins to make a loud whirring sound. What should i do - is it the gas hook up - or is it the stove.

You don't give a lot of info here (like if the range was converted from natural to LP, or if the burners are OK, or if it is a self clean model and how the broil works, etc) and I can't guess all that, especially because a lot of people post under whatever model pops up when they enter a key word while posting a problem, but,..........
Any range that was professionally installed should have been tested for proper burner and oven operation by the installer before they left. Call the installer back and let them know you are not satisfied.

My frigidaire stove made a loud pop while oven was on and then lost power....stove top elements working stove clock not working tested fuse, and changed it still not working

Thank you for your post, friend!

I understand that your Frigidaire range made a loud pop while in operation and lost power. I noticed you stated that the stove top is working and you have changed out the control board but the oven is not working. It could be a possibility that your terminal block or wiring harness has shorted. I would recommend contacting a professional technician to come out and perform a diagnosis and repair on your range. This will help to avoid any unnecessary part purchases. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

My Kenmore Gas Range 790 makes a puffing sound every time the oven cycles on. Sometimes it is quite loud. In addition when I set the temperature the preheated beep sounds well before the temperature

It sounds like your oven igniiter is the problem. the part that glows in the oven. they get old after a few years and you can get a miner explosion when the burner lights. Replacing the igniter should fix this.

Oven does not "burn" steadily when set below 300 degrees.

Sounds like you have a bad oven ignitor and oven burner tube. install a Amperage meter on one of the oven ignitor wire, It should draw above 3 AMPS, if it is below then you have a bad oven ignitor, or just change the oven ignitor to see if it makes any difference. Have fun.
