I had the same problem and solved it by removing the battery to allow the camera to reset. Worked fine after that.

I have a similar problem but when the cassette holder closes it doesn't go back inside the camera. It happened when I dropped the camcorder and I switched the rotating switch to Auto. Is there any way to fix this?

There is a flex ribbion cable attached to the main assambly and the cassette holder which moves upwards during ejection. this cable gets damaged during normal use. Get replaced it from a camera repairer.

How do I fix the tape holder system on my camcorder? The door won't lock, and the cassette won't get inside the compartment.

hi,
is it close without a cassette ? if so the reel sensor in the cassette compartment may be faulty. if the head drum not rotates the cassette drive will not work correctly, if so please loosen the head drum with a plastic rod or some tools like that. do not put your finger in hence sometimes will jam your finger. remember don"t touch the scanning chip of the head.

Wont load tape

HI, this is a mechanism fault beep you are hearing. the mechanism and load motor is damaged. you will need to send this unit to the Handy cam repair depot for this repair. you will need a new load motor and loading dock mechanism as well.

Loading tapes

I have the same problem. If I remove the battery for a few seconds, then replace the battery and wait about 5 seconds, the tape compartment closes.

Loading tapes

I had a similar issue where the tape bay would not lock in and engage the motor mechanism to load the tape. I removed the battery from the unit and let it stand for approximately a minute then reinserted the battery. The tape drawer closed first without a tape then reopened with no issue. I then inserted a new tape with no issue. I guess it needed a hard reboot.

The cassette holder isn't closing......and the tape is not loading

Hi
See if this works--If you are on battery there may not be enough power .Charge the battery or use the the mains power through the transformer and see if it works.
Hope this helps

Cassette holder does not close

Try inserting another tape first. If the trouble is still there,Defective mechanism, a stucked mechanism is present. camcorder are smart it can detects error and shuts down itself for safety. earlier models dominoes the defect if the user is not quick enough to react when something goes wrong with the camera. You need professional service to fix it.
