On your PS3, do the following:

- scroll to settings
- network settings
- internet connection settings
- select wireless

Follow the on screen instructions, and use the 'easy' set up option as it is all that is required on most.

For your Router:
- Know the SSID
- Have WEP key or any security info to hand
- If you have the SSID broadcast switched off on the router, it may not appear on the PS3. If the PS3 cannot locate your network, try enabling SSID broadcast.

Hope that helps!

How do i find my access point name my broad band t-mobile & im working with windows 7 if any one can help that would to great thanks

Your "access point" means the thing that your computer connects to in order to get on the internet. An "access point" can be the dsl modem, a router or switch inbetween the computer and the internet connection or the point of entry to the internet - depending on what you are using to connect and get on line.

You mentioned you have a broad band connection with t mobile. Is this the T mobile home service link that gives you regular phone service and internet? If so - what is the name of the box your connecting your phone and pc to?

What is the name of the equipment that t mobile gave you to use that broad band link?

Are you using a desktop or a laptop? Wireless connection? or a wired connection with a ethernet cable (looks like a phone cable but a little bigger on the plug end)?

Up grading my system in a up stairs & down stairs house

Only use one router. At the point of entry of the internet service provider(dsl or cable) connect your wireless router.(prefer middle of house) If you need a repeater for your signal do so but I don't think you will need one with N technology.

ENTERNET CONNECTIONS FOR PS-3 80GB

if you want to be able to play your ps3 downstairs with your modem upstairs, you might consider buying a Wireless Router that has Wireless G , for your PS3.
This will allow you to access your Internet all around your house without wires. I suggest looking for one that features MIMO or range plus max, or anything else that increases your signal range since there is a fair amount of distance involved.

The alternative is relocating your modem downstairs and hooking it up to the PS3. BUT your computer wont have Internet.

Slow connection

Your slow connection could be affected by poor location wireless router (therefore poor signal strength), electrical interference, or even someone else with a wireless router transmitting on the same channel as your wireless router.
Try relocating your router away from solid walls, and/or move your computer or router to another location.
If your connection speed varies, could be electrical interference with appliance/s in your house, turn off all appliances, test your internet speed connecting then turn on one appliance at a time to determine which appliance is at fault (could have a faulty capacitor in the appliance)

Hi GameGirl31,

In order for you to go on-line with the PS3, you will first need either broad band or DSL Internet connection. Once you have that, all you will need to buy then is a wireless router. You will need to hookup the wireless router to your broad band or DSL modem. Once you have done this, you have two option on how to get on-line. You can hard-wire your PS3 to the wireless modem or you can use the blue tooth wireless net-card that is already built into your PS3 to go on-line.

Sincerely,

Agent Xiong

My computer down stairs says im connected to the router upstair, but i can,t connect to the internet down stairs.is it my wireless n usb network adapter.

Try putting the router ip address in your browser address bar, if the router configuration page is displayed this would normally mean there is not a problem with your wifi connection.
Most routers will from these pages indicate wether you are connected to the internet successfully if you are unable to determine this from the indication lights on the router.

Ive got a 40gb ps3 and a bt home hub wireless router how do i connect ps3 to computer ps ps3 is upstairs and pc downstairs

look on the back of your home hub. there should be a Wireless Key in a Grey box. (BT Home Hub wireless settings)

note the wireless key.

go to your ps3. and turn it on log on ect. go to settings and down to network settings (right at bottom).

(Im not sure of the next section because im currently on a network but it should be an option to find network).

anyway you search for networks. should find your home hub.

keep going right untill you have to enter any settings. and write your WEP Key (Not WKA). (wireless key from back of router).
