I recently had an Wolf 36" electric cooktop installed. It was working great, but now it turns itself off and self locks. It has a message on the timer that says E13. If I turn of the circuit breaker, it fixes it for just a few minutes and then the error message comes back on again and the cooktop locks.
This is what Sub-Zero has to say (sounds like techno-gibberish)
Looks like it's technician time -
CT Induction Cooktop Error Code E13
SOURCE: cooktop's electronic igniter started clicking all by itself
If any of the 5 burner switches are sending a signal to the spark module to light a burner, most gas cooktops have a wire from each burner control to the spark module to send a spark to all burners. Shut the power off, pull the wires off from each control to the spark module control and reapply power . Test each one at a time to determine which is the culprit. Could be more than one but usually only one.
SOURCE: need help to unlock the cooktop
You will have to hold the lock button down for 3 or 5 seconds for it to unlock. If this doesn't help, it could be a stuck key pad or a problem in the circuit board.
Thanks/Mike
SOURCE: Only 1 of 5 burners is working on my Viking electric cooktop
By only 1 burner working, I take you mean only 1 ignites, then it sounds as though you have an issue with the spark module being defective. There is usually an access panel on the bottom of the unit, although not on all of them. Remember to disconnect from the electric.
