I have a Goldstar GHD30 dehumidifier approximately 2 years old. It had recently been leaking a blue green fluid like substance from underneath. Now it seems completely dead. I've checked my circuit breaker, the outlet, the dehumidifier filter, coils evrything inside looks fine except nothing runs. The fan, condenser nothing runs. Could it have leaked freon? If so would this prevent the fan from working too? Could I have multiple issues? Is it worth having someone come out and look at it or do I just need to buy a new one? Thanks, Eric
If any machine is completely electrically dead it is a sign that there is no electrical voltage getting through to operate it. Using an electric meter it is a relatively easy task to find the point of differential voltages which would indicate where the open circuit is located. The blue green fluid found is from copper oxide and is not necessarily indicative of a refrigerant leak. Oil present would be an indicator of a refrigerant leak.

I have a GHD30 dehumidifier purchased from Home Depot April 2008. The unit was used for one summer and stored. It is now completely dead and will not do anything. I've cleaned the filters and the coils. The light came on briefly when the tray was out of the unit. I put the tray back in and it made a faint noise for about 3 seconds. I've got it apart now and can't see any disconnected wires. Kind of dissapointing since this is just one month out of warranty.
