SOURCE: Asus P4S800-MX Motherboard video problem

The system speaker is usually a set of four pins and you use the outside pair to connect the speaker. You may need to go to the Asus web site to download the manual if you don't have it. Try to reset the bios either by shorting the appropriate pins or by removing the battery for a while.

SOURCE: No display and wont boot

A Blinking Amber or Yellow power button means that the power supply is receiving power from the source but is unable to properly distribute it to the components. This can be caused by a defective power supply or a defective motherboard. Power supply is easier and cheaper to replace.

The diagnostic code that you have specified is a memory related issue please try reseating the memory or swapping with a known good compatible memory stick in adverse case it can be the motherboard as you have specified that A & C take turn being yellow and green.

SOURCE: computer wont power up. Light stay amber and fan come on

Remove the memory chips again and reseat them in thier slots. This typically happens when you dont get the ram all the way in it's slot. Computer wont boot.

My acer desktop computer screen is black, the power says it is on but no pic, keeps cutting off, tried to back up and restore, cut off, says problem with windows and it shut off as well, HELP!

  • When the computer will not boot up, it sound like it is booting as the CPU fan is running and the lights are on. It also finds the CD ROM but it won't boot from a CD either.
  • Sometimes when you have a computer black screen on startup and the power switch light will be green and then turns to orange or amber. Everything is running.
  • Everything seems to be running but you can't see anything on the screen, not even a flashing cursor. Your black screen in Windows has occurred before the Windows logo screen:
  • 1- adapter or video card
  • 2-RAM
  • 3-and Black screen on startup with an amber flashing light
  • Not enough power getting to the motherboard.
  • A dead power supply.
  • A bent pin or shorted out USB port causing a problem.

I turn on my tower and the fans move and the disk try clicks like it wants to spin then i turn the monitor on and it turns green them orange right away and says entering power save mode waht do i do

1) Unplug the computer from power.

2) Press the Power On button in, and hold it in for a count of 10 seconds.
(Count)

Let go of the Power On button.
Do this same procedure two more times. (Or until the Power On LED does not light up anymore)

3) Plug the computer into power. WAIT 1 minute, turn the computer on.

The fans should spin at high speed for a few seconds, then settle down.
Let's see if the computer boots.

Post back in a Comment, and we will go from there.

In my case it turned out to be a weak power supply. It would work sometimes and not others. If stone cold, it would not boot. If I unplugged 1 thing, like the hard drive or the CD Roms, it would boot. Tested the old power suppy and it seemed to pass. But once I connected a new power supply, the computer has worked fine ever since.

If you have a Dell, then do this the next time.

As soon as you see your system creating problems again, turn to the back of the computer. There are 4 LED lights. See the status of those lights, I mean, green, orange etc. Check it on support.dell.com and see if you find something useful.

Optiplex GX260 won't boot

I had the same issue and accidentally discovered a temporary solution. Unplug the power from the back of the machine, open the case and unplug the ATX power connection from the motherboard. With the ATX cable unplugged, plug the power cord back in. When you try to turn the computer back on the power light should turn orange and fans should be spinning, with it powered on plug the ATX connector back in. That should turn the computer off. Turn it back on and it should boot fine. You can even shutdown and restart, but when the power is unplugged you will have to go thru the same process to get it back up. This sounds crazy but it worked on mine. Good Luck!
