D-link dir-625 still cant acces wirelessly

The 625 wireless router is setup wired to my laptop. Cable modem has ethernet cable going to the Wireless router, another ethernet cable going to the Laptop from the wireless router. How do I disconnect the Laptop from the wireless router and still be able to access the internet wirelessly, without being connected to the router with the ethernet cable from the Laptop. In other words grab my laptop and connect to the internet from anywhere in range. The network has been built also. I cant get the Laptop to connect to the network without it being wired.

I purchased a D-Link Wireless N 150 Router, Dir 600L. I am unable to setup the same. Do I need a Modem also to setup this router or I can setup without a modem?

You can setup a wireless network without a modem. It will allow you to share printers, files ect. The modem is required for an internet connection only. The modem basically translates the Ethernet traffic in to a signal that can be carried over your respective service, DSL over a POTS line or broadband over a coax cable. The word modem stands for MOdularDEModular note the word MODEM in there.

I currently have DSL service. I just received a hand me down d-link DIR-625 router. I do not have the set-up disk. I want to run DSL on my desktop computer since it doesn't have a wireless adapter. I also...

Use an Ethernet cable from the Ethernet port on your DSL modem to the 'WAN' port on the router.

Use another Ethernet cable from one of the 'LAN' ports on the router to the network-port on your desktop.

Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD
Press Enter
Type IPCONFIG
Press Enter
Look for output like: ... gateway ... 192.168.123.456
Start Internet Explorer
Type http://192.168.123.456 (or whatever value you saw)
Login to the router
Run its "Wireless Network Setup Wizard" to:
* set an SSID
* set an encryption-level, e.g., 'WPA' or 'WPA2'
* set a password
Use the SSID/password on your wireless laptop.

Router shows up strong on laptop and I tested internet by plugging ethernet directly into laptop, but router not allowing access or sending internet

Have you connected the modem to the router using the proper wire?
This wire was provided by your ISP and is not a patch cable.
It must be plugged into the uplink port on your router from the modem box. This port is also called the wan or internet port on some routers.

I have an issue with my Dlink DIR-625 wireless and cable modem

it isn't syncing up with your modem, try a hard reboot, disconect everything, even the cable, after 5 minutes , first screw the coax cable back to the modem, that will re establish the cable connection, plug everything back in, and if that pc light still is still doesn't work, the router may be bad, look on the Dlink site and download the latest firmware, as a last resort, but also reset the router first before trying anything, there is a reset button on the router. Sometimes certain routers don't work with certain modems, if you try the reset, then the hard reboot, and the firmware, you have covered all the bases

the connection should be:
One end of the cable is connected to the modem and the other should be connected at the WAN port of the modem.

Now use another Ethernet cable plug it in on the LAN port1 and the other end to your computer.

Access the configuration page of your router and set the wireless setting inside your DI-624 router.

Cant connect cable modem

If you have phone (DSL_ the phone must be connected to the modem of DSL, then connect the ethernet cable from the modem to the wireless router or router (use the jack WAN) and then from the modem (connect the cable into port # 1) goes to your PC into your ethernet card.

You have to access to your router and set your network (you have to put the data of your internet connection gave to you by your internet provider (usually is your email address and your pass)
