Press either line 1 or line 2 on the face of the phone then slide the volume button up or down, for example, press line 1 and slide volume up to turn on ringer, and press line 2 and slide down to turn ringer off

Phone ringer off

It a little bit older cordless phone, I CAN'T find the model number, there's a menu/elect button on the face but I can't turn the ringer off. The base has a ringer that I turned off but the phone still rings. There are no switches on the phone or base for turning it off.

I have the ATT 973 2-line speakerphone. If line 1 is in use and a call comes in on line 2, there is no ringer sound. The reverse is also true: If line 2 is in use and a call comes in on line 1, it does...

I use the 974 4 line version in my office so the buttons may not be exactly the same but press ENTER then toggle to PHONE SETTINGS & press ENTER. Toggle to RINGER ON/OFF & press ENTER. You should see L1 in the window and the ringer may be set OFF, toggle to ON then press ENTER. Toggle to L2 and repeat the process.

You have to do this on each phone.

What amperage is needed for 9V AC adapter for AT&T telephone model number 972?

Anything that's 1 amp or more. Just have to meet minimun amperage which on a modern digital phone ,is'nt likely to be more than 1 amp. You can also use more tan 1 amp, because the phone won't use more amps than it needs. (Ohms Law).

Model GE 27951 - Unable to Turn Ringer back on

The headset volume is turned to zero. Hit the "menu" key on the headset and it should take you to "ringer setting", hit select for the ringer volume and turn the volume up. Not very intuitive but that should get you going!
