It's pretty easy to do. First, get a pry tool from a parts store to aid in getting the door handle off. While you are there, get a pry tool to aid in getting the clips off from around the outside of the interior door panel. Take those items off, unscrew the door arm rest screws and you're golden. unscrew the existing speaker, match the size with a new one, hook up your wiring, test the speaker by turning on the power and playing the radio and once you confirm you have a working speaker, put it all back together.

you need to find out if your vech has an amp or not call your dealer and give them the vin# adn they can ck to see if the truck was built with or with out an amp.If the truck has an amp the radio sends low level signals to the amp then the amp amplifies them and sends the signals to the speakers. so if the amp is bad and you replace the radio it still will not sent the signals to the speakers.

the cd player is bad and you can hook up subs through a rca hook up that you can hook to your speaker wires in the trunk the adapter is like 20 bucks at radio shack or local sound installer or buy an after market cd player cause yours will never work again and run rca's off the back of the radio to your trunk

It seems that your problem is actally the amp you are trying to use, many have either a switch or pontiameter to allow the speakers you are running either to play mid-range or low-range (sub) take a closer look at your amp that you are using

Get a hold of the woofer connector (I believe its brown) right by the whoofer and move it around/press it/disconnect and reconnect and check if the woofer comes on. There is a bad connection in the connector for the woofer itself. I have a 2001 GLE my self and that's what I found to be the problem with mine.

sounds like the cassette adapter has a bad channel, or didn't fully seat into place. Try removing and re inserting, to play the other side of the adapter if the wires will allow it. Then auto reverse the cassette deck to allow a different portion of the cassette head to be used for the signal. Those cassette adapters are poor quality, and put alot of time on the mech.
