SOURCE: my moniter says out of range.

Video Card has a resolution setting higher than the monitor supports. The below works with XP, may work for Vista as well

Start the PC
Start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see a menu
Choose Safe Mode (make sure not to pick safe mode command prompt)
Once you see the desktop, right click on an empty area on the desktop, then choose properties

Find the resolution property in this program and bring it down. 1024 x 768 should be ok

Click on OK til the window disappears

Reboot

2005 bUICK park avenue ultra, the climate control indicator goes dim, I hit the dash and the light comes on stronger

There are 3 things to think what can be the problem.
1. there is a day/night sensor on the dash.{not working properly}
2. there is a variable dimmer for the cluster illumination. loose connector or terminals.
3. The display itself.{can be defect} loose connection at the display or terminals.
lot of work.

Hope it helps.

Printer will not complete boot. It looks like it begins to boot, then power light goes out but comes on again

Most probably caused by a power supply failure or main board short. Either way it is not a repairable fault.

The Dell AS 501 monitor display comes and goes off in seconds. If I switch off and on again, the display comes back and goes off again in less than a second. I repeat this as many times the same monitor...

This sounds like the power inverter is failed.. It's what pumps up the power for the light in the monitor.
You could try unplug the sound bar from the back of monitor if you have the sound bar installed. Just a maybe..
To fix the inverter (replace) is usually better to buy newmonitor unless you do it your self.
The defective LCD Backlight inverter will cause the following symptoms:
  • No Display, but Power Indicate light stay on green (Or Blue).
  • Screen flash on and off and the power indicate light stays on green (or Blue).
  • Dim Display

I hooked my new computer up to my NEC Multisync 1700V moniter. When I power the moniter up the GREEN light comes on until I get a "no Signal Message" and then the amber lihgt comes on.

hi, hook up your old one and change the refresh rate to 60 or 70 hertz, go 2 display properties, then the settings tab, then advanced, then monitor. and set it as i said. turn off computer after you change settings. hook up the nec, you then should be good 2 go. good luck! and please rate this solution. if you need further help, reply.

Compaq Armada E500 PC Notebook Display Completly Out

Hi Jeryl; Im sorry to have to te3ll you but when the power went out it sent a surge to the external monitor . This blew the monitor which in turn blew your video display. This is a not so uncommon problem with laptop displays. They are very fragile. Especially when it comes to power urges. The only way you can fix this is to replace the monitor. Even this may not fix the problem. It could be any one of a few thousand parts inside your laptop. Best advice would be to let your local repair shop do the repair. Hope this has helped. If it has please accept this answer. Thank you; HELP2DIY
