Printers Is the HP Desket F2280 compatible with Windows vista? If not whwt HP printer would be? I was wondering the same thing as my hp laptop won't let me install the the f2280 printer at all keeps coming up with "fatal error has occured" then jams up my computer trying for hours upon end to install it. Is it maybe because my laptop only has "Windows vista basic"? if this is the problem which printer would be right for me?

Be sure that your printer is compatible with the operating system that you have on your PC. If it is an older printer, with a newer Operating System, such as Windows 7, it may not be compatible. I have just purchased a HP Deskjet F2280 all-in-one printer..when I go to install the printer by disk [following all directions properly] it stops with an error announcement to do with my usb hardware..I...
hp has alot of problems with their deskjets, I know I have one. Anyway go to their website and download the software and drivers for vista, but first make surre nay other printers are uninstalled and their software is uninstalled also.

My HP F2280 all in one printer will only photo copy but wont install on my HP laptop which does have Windows vista but only basic. It tries to install it for ages then says it had a fatal error then jams...
Unistall any pevious printer software. Try to use windows drivers. If not, search only the suitable driver for printer (you can use 2240) but the driver only, not the entire hp suite.
