My Sony LBT-XGR60 stopped suddenly and displays "Protect" and "Push Power" alternately. I followed the troubleshooting directions in the manual several times, turning off the power and leaving it off for 1/2 hour, then turning it back on. Still the same. It makes a little whirring sound and then "Protect" and "Push Power" come back on. This happened once before, last year, and I was able to fix it by turning it off. I checked all of the speaker cables - everything appears to be OK. This is a school, and the player gets very hard use. Thank you for any ideas you can give me.
You need the part number STK442-130 main power amp chip has blown needs to be replaced. big black thing on heat sink inside should cost about 10 pound to replace.
Doiuble check your wiresa again for no pinches or shorts, even at the back of the unit. Also try unplugging the unit for 12 to 24 hours. If that does not help, it may be the time to buy a new stereo because that means there is a fault in the output device, unless you kinow someone who can trouble shoot and repair solid state electronics.
