I have tried to charge several new sony np-fp50 batties on my hc-30. The Charge Light comes on briefly , then after several minutes, it goes out and the battery has very little charge. The same thing has occured on several batteries. The hc will work when plugged into electrical outlet. Any suggestions?

A technician ' s adjustable bench power supply - set for 9 volts at 1 amp - for a minute or so , will initialize most new lithium batteries ( a charger update may also be available ) ;

Sony DCRA-C162 Camcorder. I need a replacement battery for the DCRA-C162. Does anyone know where I can get one?

Question edited for clarity, add full 'make model (what it is)'.
Question moved from Cars and Trucks category.

Searching for your manual keeps bringing up this manual
https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/2698/26988801M.pdf

Looking at that manual Page 16, it states the battery pack as 'NP-FP50', and that turns up batteries for $15.

I have a sony dcr-dvd108. Can I get some help?

It sounds like your Sony DCR-DVD108 camcorder may have a problem with the battery or the power connection.
For the battery issue, you can try replacing the battery with a new one that is compatible with your camcorder. The Sony NP-FP50 or NP-FP70 are compatible batteries for your DCR-DVD108. You can purchase them online or from a camera store.
As for the "Movie Disabled" message, it may be caused by the type of disc you are using. The Sony DCR-DVD108 camcorder is compatible with DVD-R and DVD-RW discs, but it may not be compatible with all brands of discs. You may need to try using a different brand of disc to see if that resolves the issue.
Additionally, make sure that the camcorder is set to the correct recording mode, such as video mode, and that there is enough space on the disc to record the video. If none of these solutions work, there may be a problem with the camcorder itself, and it may need to be repaired or replaced.

Sony DCR-HC40E when turned on using battery (NP-FP50) power will display the following mesaage "Use InfoLithium Battery Pack" and then switch off. When on DC power it works fine. Also, when I...

It means the camera has detected that the battery is not genuine or not compatible. sony batteries has the data chip that provides the 'info' in infolithium.

check with the vendor who sold you the battery.

Casio NP20 battery does not charge, charger keeps flashing, does this mean I need new battery? also,it has 700MAH will 800 do when I replace it? was does this mean

Hello,

If you have had the battery a long time or have charged it often it will need replacing if it does not charge.
800MAH is the capacity of the battery, how much power it can store.
800 is better than 700 and if it is a NP20 it will be OK in your camera.

Hope this helps.

Battery life?

Here is a replacement source

The batteries are covered under warranty for three years. Sony batteries are know for not keeping a good charge after a few years.

If there not holding a charge, they wouldn't appear on the LCD screen at all. I the AC power is working fine, then that probably isn't the source for not getting a charge.

You could try lightly scraping the contacts on the battery and see if that makes a difference and recharge them.

Battery Charge error

Hey Lak_69,
One problem I know of is the battery for your camera should be model NP-20 not model NP-40. The NP-20 has 650mAh. I would exchange your new battery for the correct model battery, and see if this works. If this doesn't work I would try cleaning the battery terminals in the camera, and if that doesn't work go ahead and try a new charger.

Sincerely,
Allan

Battery Charge Light not working & can't display battery info

This sounds similar to a problem I had. I brought the camera in under warranty and the repair shop fixed it. They shop text is cryptic.
Problem: Camera light keeps flashing, not charge
Solution: Troubleshoot to intermittent switch block control, replace with new one, test OK.
